Ghoulish.
They are all someone's kids - perpetrators and victims.
Think about that.

I don't dispute that.

It's unjustifiable to give every murderer a whole life tariff.

Soon your opinion- Which people’s lives taken by murder are worth less years time in prison and other lives?

MeinKraft · 02/02/2024 22:51

@ButterCrackers these things aren't just decided on a whim, there's really strict guidance about sentencing...you can look them up if you are interested.

MILTOBE · 02/02/2024 23:03

I wondered about the actual killing. There was blood found on the boy but not on the girl. I wondered whether she'd gone home and put everything in the wash, trainers and all. I can't think she didn't stab Brianna at all and I can't think she wouldn't have blood on her.

They won’t serve that they will be out in 10 likely less because of remand. They can get their education in prison as they would outside anyway and by time they are 28 they will be able to be released and will easily be able to get a job to start a new life due to discrimination laws. You think they are being punished theyre not they will be fine.

There are sentencing guidelines which judges must abide by.

My opinion is not relevant.

@ Mambo19866 They won’t be out in 10 years. they have to serve the minimum of 20 and 22 years before they are eligible to be considered for parole.

Did you really have to say that you don't believe Brianna was a girl?
Not the time or the place.

Ok so you do understand that when that other schizophrenic kicked that old social worker in the head until she died in the news the other day not the Nottingham one the other one he was meant to be in prison for 10 years but turns out he was spotted going to the shops 2 years after the incident because he was allowed out on licence to report to probation. The sentence doesn’t mean they are in prison that whole time they go out on licence. The killers will be fine they will have an education and a job by the time most people are just taking the second step up in their careers. I know someone who killed someone with a fence post when they were 19 and they are a plumber now at 30 and own their own house and all is dandy. It doesn’t matter the killers will be fine makes no difference.

Yes, they may get out on licence. But that won't happen for a minimum of 20 and 22 years. If that happens they'll spend the rest of the sentence (their whole life) on licence. That's what a life sentence with a minimum term of 20/22 years means. They won't be out in 10 years.

And on another thread where this killer is mentioned posters are appalled that people think it being mentioned that he's out and about shopping and having fun is awful for him, and their sympathy lies entirely with him as its his right to be allowed to do so!
