Need to go to IKEA in the next week or so as we're getting a couple of Kallax units.

As we all know it's virtually illegal to only come back with what you went in for so what else do I need oh wise vipers?

Small glass vase for about £2 which is just the right size for when all your flowers are dead except for one or two which are still blooming nicely.

StellaAndCrow · 16/01/2024 22:56

Some heart-shaped sweets cos they're pretty

A cheese grater box with lid and a table top ironing board

BEVARA sealing clips.
JUBLA white unscented dinner candles (the best + a steal, I love the extra long ones).
ENTUSIASM blue & white patterned side plates and small bowls - we love them.
BLANDA MATT bamboo serving bowls (they get a bit worn even with just hand washing but love them for parties).
I also covet the smokey grey TONSÄTTA glass vase.

Placemarking for when i get out of work!

A TIPHEDE rug, it's £18, massive and fits in the washing machine.

Throw all of your saucepans out and get the 365 9 piece saucepan set.

Kids flannels, when they're tired of being bathroom flannels they get relegated to kitchen duties.

Angle poise lamp.

You probably need some curtains to sit in a cupboard then remember you have them in about 3 years time.

A shower curtain (also to sit in a cupboard).

One of those wooden drawers for desk organising - you can lay it flat, remove the drawers and it's open book storage

Which is this? Can you send a pic or link? Thank you 🙏

the Moppe drawers! Only small but light, if you lie it on its back with the drawers out then it's great for open storage

We had a pair of those 🐀 when DD was a toddler. We forgot them at the bread shop and invented a whole story about them exploring the bakery (!). Even better when the shop assistant had them under the counter in a paper bag waiting for us!

Anyway, don’t buy the sugar free oat biscuits or the jam. We were very disappointed. If they have them (ours didn’t) buy the Marabou chocolates in a roll.

I use 365+ mugs and bowls at breakfast- the medium mugs are a good size and have cork or wooden coasters. Look for them ex-display in the bazaar

Kallax have great inserts so I’d go crazy with boxes, drawers and doors. Then I’d pick up cheap Christmas wrapping paper for next year. And maybe one of those cheap €1 glass pump bottles. Mine has lasted 3 years.

bravotango · 17/01/2024 10:43

This is taken from google - i haven't painted mine or added legs but you could! Nice little DIY project

bravotango · 17/01/2024 10:58

I went yesterday as bought a new fridge and microwave in the sales to replace 20y old ones. Hence I got a microwave steaming cover things that WILL get used every time someone uses the microwave to stop that tomato sauce splatter lining the walls that no one but me ever cleans, and they now do a great range of glass food storage which I got loads of as I am swearing off plastic boxes that go orange in the dishwasher. Also got freezer bags and cushion inserts. Oh and some nice blue laundry baskets.

AIstolemylunch · 17/01/2024 12:01

Btw, I went for 2 cushion inserts ...... Only ....

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 17/01/2024 12:04

The heavy stemmed wine glasses. Some mason jars. A double hot dog and an ice cream on the way out. Smile

BruceAndNosh · 17/01/2024 12:15

Variera expanding pot lid holder.
I have loads of these for holding kids, baking trays, chopping boards etc.
The packet sauce for the meatballs is excellent store cupboard essential

Hamman large waffle beach towels. They come in about 3 sizes, but the largest bath sheet sizes make excellent swimming and beach towels. Large, thin to pack but absorbant. We bought 2 blue and 2 green last year and they wash up great after beach days and laid out on muddy grass sunbathing.

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/vallasan-bath-sheet-light-grey-brown-20502128/#content - these (although they don’t seem to do blue now)

VALLASÅN Bath sheet, light grey/brown, 100x150 cm - IKEA

VALLASÅN Bath sheet, light grey/brown, 100x150 cm Made of cotton/viscose, this light grey/brown, waffle-textured towel is absorbent and quick drying. The fringe edging adds a touch of playfulness. A perfect match in style and colour with VINARN towels.

DPIL recently got a long shoe horn from IKEA which DH is now convinced we need as well so that's on the shopping list next time we visit (along with spice biscuits, bilberry jam etc.)

DuchessOfSausage · 17/01/2024 13:51

The long shoe horns are useful and cute
