Just that what do your children call you or what do you prefer to be called.
My children call me mum/dad.
My sister's children call her by her nic name dad by his name.
I call my mum by her name as did my mum to hers same as dad.
My friend will not answer to her children unless they say mummy & daddy.

DD used Mummy/Mama for me and Daddy for DH. These days it’s just mum or an irritated ‘mother’ being whispered under her breath though!!

For her step dad she just calls him by his name

BlueAndPinkHairDontCare · 14/01/2024 18:17

Mum from the 9 year old, mother from the teens 🙄

Mum from the 9 year old, mother from the teens 🙄

My teen says mother as well, often in a stupid voice 🙄

MrsDilligaf · 14/01/2024 18:36

Ocasionally I get called mamma but more often than not we're Mummy and Daddy.

Crunchymum · 14/01/2024 18:41

Mummy and daddy by the younger two and mum and dad by the 11 year old (although when he is talking about one of us he still uses mummy and daddy "mummy is old" 😂)

Sommerled · 14/01/2024 18:42

"Muuuuuuuuuuum" generally

SkankingWombat · 14/01/2024 19:34

7yo: Mummy & Daddy

9yo: Mum & Dad or Mummy & Daddy depending on her mood/what she needs.

TBH I don't care as long as it is clearly addressing me, isn't rude/insulting, and isn't spoken in a whining tone! DH would never accept anything other than a variation of Dad/Daddy etc.

Beignet · 14/01/2024 19:37

Generally Mum. However, teens have been recently using my name in sentences. Ie. "Hurry up Beignet!". I find it amusing

PinkyU · 14/01/2024 19:38

Adult dc - mum and dad

14yo - mummy and daddy

11yo - mummy and daddy.

Multipleexclamationmarks · 14/01/2024 19:40

Ds 14 - mum
Dd 15 - mum or birthgiver
Dd 30 - mam, muuuum, mother, The Mothership,

bobomomo · 14/01/2024 19:42

Mama, they are adults.

ronoi · 14/01/2024 19:44

Mum & Dad, except for the 14yo who is autistic and doesn't use names. He mostly makes noises to get our attention.

hiredandsqueak · 14/01/2024 19:44

Mine are adults I get called Mommy, Mutty, Mum and Babs I answer to anything tbh. They call their father Dad, Dat, and Daddy. I used Mum and Pops for my parents. Dgs calls dd Mama.

Thecomfortador · 14/01/2024 19:45

Muuum with a specific intonation. The daad has a weird accenty thing on one of the a's.
Trying to think of they ever still say mummy / daddy? I'm not sure if they do.

TeenLifeMum · 14/01/2024 19:50

When little - mummy / mama (identical twins had different names for me so I could tell the difference from them calling me)

Mum - when in year 5-7

mummy - year 8 / Mother by dd in year 11

TeenLifeMum · 14/01/2024 19:51

Oh and I’m in dd3’s phone as “birth giver” 🙄

Simonjt · 14/01/2024 19:51

I’m generally Daddy or Abba (urdu for dad essentially) and my husband is Pappa, occasionally Farsa (Swedish for dad) where our son is concerned. Our two year old calls us both Abba at the minute, nice and easy to pronounce for a toddler.

tuitui · 14/01/2024 19:52

My DC call me in my language "mama" and call DH in his language "papa".

FizzyStream · 14/01/2024 19:59

7 and 10 year old boys.

Me - mum, mama, bruh, MUUUUUUUMMMMM
DH - dad

Mumaway · 14/01/2024 19:59

Mummy and daddy, and they correct me if I say Mum or Dad (DDs8&10)

hellsBells246 · 14/01/2024 20:01

My 16yo ds calls me by my first name or by various nicknames. Dd19 calls me Mum or Mumma. Or Mother when she's cross with me!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/01/2024 20:02

Mummy when they were small, then mum. Now more often mam as that is most common where we live or a nickname only they use based on my first name.

SeemsSoUnfair · 14/01/2024 20:12

Mum and dad, even from an early age. I never liked mummy or daddy and I don't hear it used often here (Scotland) beyond toddler age.

If ds called me "birth giver" I would have words about its origins and tell him it should not be normalised even in a poor attempt at funny.

PleaseBePacific · 14/01/2024 20:15

Mother or mum by the young adults and mummy by 5yo.

To be honest I find it weird when parents encourage their kids to call them by their first names. This may be partially because the only couple I knew personally who did this were very odd, but it just doesn't seem right

rwalker · 14/01/2024 20:15

Since about 12 my name
always call my mum by her name occasionally when I call her mum 9 times out of 10 she doesn’t respond and I have to shout her name
