Thinking of booking to see this. If anyone has been, I’d appreciate your opinions.

@DaisyDreaming i went right when it opened when it said minimum age 3 - i see it says 6 now which is more realistic.

Me and DH went and loved it! We're suckers for a musical and loved the film so knew we'd enjoy the stage show. Samantha Barks was fab.

Each to their own but if I was going to the theatre as an adult I would choose Frozen, if I was taking a child I would choose Matilda. I think the kids in Matilda and the way Matilda is presented make it more younger child friendly and a better intro into big theatre. As an adult I much prefer frozen!

I’m the opposite as I’ve also seen both and thought Frozen was good but Matilda was fantastic! But then I adored the book as a child and only saw Frozen a few years ago.

I went with a friend and her daughters who are in their late teens and they loved it, but they were kids when the film came out so they probably feel like I did about Matilda. I enjoyed the musical and thought the actor playing Olaf was the best thing in it, but I wouldn’t see it again.
We also went to see the Back To The Future musical and that was brilliant; the way they did the DeLorean was really effective and it was great fun. I’d go and see that again.

I forgot to add that I saw more than one Dad in a princess dress in the audience excitedly buying ALLLLL of the merchandise for their wee princesses (suckers). They were hilarious. I now work in the same theatre and Beauty and the Beast is coming soon so I hope to see more of this!

oh I’m jealous you’ve got beauty and the beast coming! I saw it during its brief run in London. Lovely to see parents taking their kids to see shows. I also love seeing coach loads of kids arriving at shows knowing for many it might be the only big show they get to see as a child. It’s one of those things that if I won the lottery I would fund some theatre visits. I heard about a rich man who hired out a whole performance in London for local kids, most had never seen a show.

Does anyone know if Beauty & The Beast is touring? DH has booked for The Wizard of Oz which is local to us direct from The London Palladium - can’t wait!

We've just got back after seeing it this evening and I have to say I wasn't that impressed... the big numbers are great and the staging but the rest is a bit limp..... the American accents really grate after a while and it sort of lacked a purpose.

Also so many teenagers talking all the way through didn't help. We heard one lady tell a bunch of teenagers to "shut the fuck up" and then got into a row with the mother at the end... it was more dramatic than any part of the actual show 🙄

I loved it and dd who at 13 thought she was a bit cool for it was totally won over. And yes the dress change is wonderful!
