Hi everyone. Another day dry here!

DingDongMerrilyOnHi · 10/01/2024 21:01

Still dry…

Week days are seeming, dare I say it, fairly easy atm and despite me being back at work today, no cravings this evening.

I will not however get complacent as Friday is just around the corner!!

Morelinesadded · 10/01/2024 21:05

Jumping on to thread 2. Thanks for all the information and support.
Bought some Kylie fizz today, will maybe drink it at the weekend. Well done everyone!

FishPie2 · 10/01/2024 21:06

Son brought me a bottle of AF spirits this afternoon and I told him to take it away, don't think I could drink it without wanting the real thing and was very surprised at the price of it.
Lemon and ginger tea is a nice change and going to try the Trip Cbd drink mentioned earlier, never heard of it before and have a voucher from Holland and Barrett so will use that.

ParsnipAndPoppy · 10/01/2024 21:18

Day 10 done, agree with pp that my anxiety is SO much better than it was. A real benefit and one I wasn’t expecting to be so marked so soon.

ChihuahuasREvil · 10/01/2024 21:20

I’m still going strong. I’m yet to experience this improved sleep that people rave about though, it’s actually been much worse. My appetite has decreased though, which is something I wasn’t expecting. Suits me, I could do with shifting a bit of weight.

december2020 · 10/01/2024 21:25

Thank you so much for the new thread!

Checking in for day 10!
I managed my movie screening and avoided all the alcoholic drinks on offer and opted for an apple Tango thing. Probably the first time I've turned down a wine or cocktail in this kind of setting so feeling a little proud of myself for keeping consistent.

Still having wobbles with work and the career aspect of it - I think I'm clear on where I want to go but I don't know how I'll get there.

Looking forward to getting home and having an AF beer in bed with DH and our shows.

Can't believe we're in double digits now!

Anyone else watching Traitors?? Not wanting to derail the thread of course…!

Wilkolampshade · 10/01/2024 21:38

Thanks for opening the new thread OP. Much to my amazement, still going! (But just the teeniest bit bored of an evening, I'll admit)

Feeling this too

Hohofortherobbers · 10/01/2024 21:40

Thanks for the new thread, I'm in bed already, 2 pints of water and cup of bedtime tea down.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 10/01/2024 21:41

Boredom? I've resorted to mobile phone games....

CrackersCheeseNoWinePlease · 10/01/2024 21:55

Hey everyone
Checking in for day 10, I can't believe I've lasted this long, I think this is the longest I've gone when not pregnant.
Hope everyone else is doing okay

DJ24 · 10/01/2024 22:00

Checking in. Still AF.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 10/01/2024 22:03

@ParsnipAndPoppy

Totally loving The Traitors. I'm on that thread too. That was a good hour!

katmarie · 10/01/2024 22:04

Checking into the new thread. I definitely feel like it's gotten easier the last couple of days, I have felt less cravings, and less like I might cave in and pour a drink. I think the further I go, the further I want to go.

FlyingPandas · 10/01/2024 22:05

Still AF here too. But exhausted and sluggish and a bit low. Admittedly I've had a really busy day and a bit of a stressful evening, I suppose I should be glad I'm not really thinking about wine (usually I'd open a bottle as an immediate response to a busy day and/or stressful evening), but I'm just feeling a bit miserable. Hoping this is more to do with time of the month than anything else...heading for an early night and fingers crossed I'll have a bit more energy tomorrow.

OwlWeiwei · 10/01/2024 22:12

Day 10 already!
Feeling pretty good. Not really craving a drink at all, which surprises me. Last year I found DJ really tough - the year before it felt quite easy - never know how it's going to be.
Elderflower cordial with sparkling water and way too many snacks here. I wish I wasn't snacking as much but at least it's not because I want wine and can't have it - I just seem to want to work through the Christmas sweets and there are too many of them left!

Happyface120 · 10/01/2024 22:18

Checking into the new thread! Day 10 ✅

Isthisjustnormal · 10/01/2024 22:47

Just checking in for day 10 :-) Not too bad overall: I thought I’d fancy a drink tonight as I had a day at work I’ve been dreading and it went really well. But the traitors saw me though! Definitely feeling a bit brighter and noticing how well I’m sleeping. I think next weekends might be the hard one though!

ElizabethBennetsBoots · 11/01/2024 00:04

Checking in!

HPLikecraft · 11/01/2024 00:39

Hi all, sorry for lateness. Thanks everyone for joining us here on the shiny new thread.
I know you're all desperate for a progress report, so here it is. We've finished Day 10 of Dry January, so that is:

32.25%

of the way through. Just shy of one third!

Well done if you've got this far 😁

OP posts:
hydratedsusan · 11/01/2024 05:08

Wow, one third, that's actually gone quickly and rather painlessly for me.
Last night I entertained myself by sorting, fixing and rehanging all my Christmas baubles on gorgeous velvet and satin ribbons. I didn't fancy a drink and feel like I'm sleeping much more deeply. Definitely keen to continue, thank you for the supportive thread.

Sandytoxic · 11/01/2024 05:50

one third is very encouraging! Not be long now till half way through, and then it's fewer days to go than we've already done.
