I don't see why not. Especially peaches which are pretty solid. I want rumble now

Dacadactyl · 09/01/2024 22:13

Yes.

PollyOrange · 09/01/2024 22:13

*crumble
I don't want a fight 😅

BlowDryRat · 09/01/2024 22:13

I do it sometimes when I CBA to do the prep. It's a bit mushier than using fresh fruit but still tastes good.

JamMakingWannaBe · 09/01/2024 22:13

Definitely!
Try tinned apricots too.

CutesyUserName · 09/01/2024 22:14

I made a crumble using tinned apples last night, it was bloody gorgeous! I can't believe how good tinned apples are and only tried them having heard they existed on here.

Pepperama · 09/01/2024 22:14

Yes you can, will likely just have a softer / mushier texture.

JamMakingWannaBe · 09/01/2024 22:14

With apples and pears, lots of cinnamon and raisins/sultanas.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/01/2024 22:15

Tinned apricot crumble is so quick & easy.

Beebumble2 · 09/01/2024 22:15

I’ve just made a tinned peach cobbler, delicious! Go for it

fedupandstuck · 09/01/2024 22:16

It would be fine. Tinned fruit is just pre-cooked fruit after all. You could try cooking it for a shorter time on a higher temperature, to just get the fruit hot and the top crispy, rather than having to cook the fruit filling itself.

Use a couple of tins of raspberries or blackcurrants or a mixture. It's absolutely gorgeous as a crumble

HRTQueen · 09/01/2024 22:17

That sounds really good shall try that

HardcoreLadyType · 09/01/2024 22:18

I often use tinned peaches and frozen raspberries together in a crumble. Or frozen rhubarb. I make various sponge type puddings with tinned pears in.

I’ve never used tinned apple, but I don’t see why not!

I've made that before and it really is lovely isn't it? Tinned peaches or tinned rhubarb work well too Wink

Crucible · 09/01/2024 22:18

I've never seen tinned apple and I go to most supermarkets - any clues?

truckcarlorry · 09/01/2024 22:19

Thanks all
So much. I'm gonna do a raspberry and white chocolate crumble too. No idea of it will work but I'm gonna try 🤷‍♀️

I've done pear & chocolate crumble (cocoa powder in the mix) as well which goes well together.

Would love a recipe for a sponge type fruit pudding with a crumble top if anyone has one handy (yes I know I could google) ☺️

PurpleWhirple · 09/01/2024 22:26

Sainsbury's do own brand tinned apples which are great in a crumble

Crucible · 09/01/2024 22:29

Thanks I'll go to Sainsbury's. Tomorrow.

OldTinHat · 09/01/2024 22:33

Absolutely, you can. Add a packet of crumble mix and away you go! (Of course, this is not what I've ever done all the time ever...)
