Which engagement ring would you pick?

I am stuck between three rings. I wanted a silver band but love the diamond in the first one. The second one is very pretty imo but there's something about the third one that makes me really drawn to it. Which one do you like best?

Have you thought about what sort of wedding band you'd like and how it would sit? That might be another consideration to take into account in your choice. How do they look combined etc.

catwithflowers · 07/01/2024 09:20

#3. The emerald cut. It's what I chose and I absolutely love it 🥰

catwithflowers · 07/01/2024 09:21

Oh and I wear a plain platinum wedding ring.

@Changedmymind99 I thought that too, but it is vintage and about 100 years old so I guess that could be why.

I love the third one but you need to try them on with a wedding band and consider whether they require a shaped band and if so whether you like shaped wedding rings.

Angrycat2768 · 07/01/2024 09:27

3rd one. Don't really like the first one and it may not be practical to have such a big stone if yo are going to wear it every day.

Mumtoabeast · 07/01/2024 09:29

No 3

BringMeSunshine48 · 07/01/2024 09:34

The first one.
Classical and won't date, plus gives you the option to wear both gold or silver jewellery as will match with both.

BringMeSunshine48 · 07/01/2024 09:36

The very fact that the first is vintage makes me love it even more! Yet also shows how it won't date.
The others are lovely but will probably look old hat in a few years.
Classic and timeless is always the best way to go imo

Jennalong · 07/01/2024 09:39

Third one , timeless elegance .

LadyEloise1 · 07/01/2024 09:40

Congratulations @christmasshime on your engagement.
I don't like emerald cut diamonds, so the third one would be out for me.
I wouldn't be mad about the other two either.
What's the budget ?
Sorry I'm not much help.

PurpleReindeer2 · 07/01/2024 09:41

3rd one

YaWeeFurryBastard · 07/01/2024 09:41

The third one is the nicest but just be aware it won’t be very sparkly because of the cut. Because of that I’d pick number 2.

Enko · 07/01/2024 09:45

Go for the third one as that's the one you feel drawn to.

Catsfrontbum · 07/01/2024 09:47

First one is gorgeous.
2nd one might be nice but it feels a bit unbalanced…the middle
stone is too small for yeh shoulders I think.
third one is a safe bet. But I don’t love it!

halfthesun · 07/01/2024 09:48

Third .

IfAIwasfedMN · 07/01/2024 09:50

I'd pick the first as it looks less likely to get caught on things. I've found any rings with pointy corners snag clothes and scratch me or the kids if I'm not being super careful.

christmasshime · 07/01/2024 09:52

Budget is £3000 but could go a bit over if it was perfect @LadyEloise1

Third.

onestepfromgrace · 07/01/2024 09:58

Third one definitely

Els1e · 07/01/2024 09:58

I like the third one best, with the first one second. Indifferent to the second one.

HollyJollyJingleBells · 07/01/2024 09:58

It's the 3rd one by a country mile for me. Gorgeous!

LadyEloise1 · 07/01/2024 09:59

I agree with @Catsfrontbum re the second ring that the middle stone is too small for the shoulders and it looks unbalanced.

It's such a lovely time looking for a ring.
I'm married a long time now but I still think of the other engagement ring we both loved. Running between 2 jewellers shops. Smile
Sometimes I think I made a mistake and chose the wrong ring.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 07/01/2024 10:08

3rd one is beautiful. Art deco classic looking.

Cuppachuchu · 07/01/2024 10:09

I've been married a long time and have a simple but lovely solitaire in gold.
If I was choosing today, I would favour a rub-over setting, they are smoother, no prongs to catch on things and sit nicely with a wedding band. Just a thought.
