Do you have artificial flowers in your house?

I once spent a lot of money on some as they were suppose to look and feel real - but they definitely didn’t 😅

I do think the preserve roses looks nice .. but maybe quite common now.

No, because I have a cat who is so stupid, I caught her trying to nibble the Christmas Tree when the real plants were all out of reach. I don't have anything that's going to poison her anyway, but choking on plastic leaves would add a whole extra level of cost at the vet.

MrsMitford3 · 03/01/2024 18:16

I don't.

I have never found any that didn't look dusty and cheap.

I also love real towers-can be bought reasonably cheaply in the supermarket or my local flower stall.

No, but I'm thinking about getting some of the Lego ones.

I have Lego daffodils

newyearnewnothing · 03/01/2024 18:19

Plants only

jusmoi · 03/01/2024 18:23

Started having fake flowers because I got sick of the Nats! Fungus ones I think they are called ?

jusmoi · 03/01/2024 18:24

I do have fresh cut flowers though

Gnomegnomegnome · 03/01/2024 18:24

No. I feel that people who have fake flowers probably also have fake grass outside?

EverDecreasingStandards · 03/01/2024 18:27

No, because they never look anything other than fake.

AuntieMarys · 03/01/2024 18:30

No. I have 8 vases of daffodils around the house though

zigzag716746zigzag · 03/01/2024 18:35

No, I find they creep me out somehow.

I think it’s because it is the polar opposite of what a plant or flowers represents to me. Even a tiny scraggly plant would make me smile because it was a little bit of nature, and had been looked after. A fake plant is not natural, and is there so the owner doesn’t have to bother looking after it.

Each to their own, and I don’t judge people who have them, but I really, really, really dislike them.

Mazuslongtoenail · 03/01/2024 18:37

Why would I have fake flowers when I can have almost 60 house plants where at least 10 are threatening to die and causing me no end of angst at any time. 😮‍💨

ohfook · 03/01/2024 18:44

No I both hate artificial plants and flowers whilst also being incapable of keeping real ones alive. Unfortunately this means my house is full of plants and flowers that have failed to thrive. Like a little plant graveyard.

Hedjwitch · 03/01/2024 18:48

No,I dont like them.

MajesticWhine · 03/01/2024 18:52

In general I don't but I keep a small one in the bathroom. Just a habit I copied from my MIL I think, because it looks nice.

londonguild · 03/01/2024 18:54

No false plants never look really. You're better off having a few pot plants and then some fresh flowers occasionally!

Cas112 · 03/01/2024 19:00

I have a fake plant.. love it

Bought some fake flowers, hate them cause they look s* so don't have them on display

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 03/01/2024 19:01

No because I don’t live them enough to dust them. Would like real plants and flowers indoors - but we have cats.
I did get fake plants and flowers for mil, for hanging baskets and tubs outside her bungalow, she found gardening and watering too much but wanted colour around her porch. Looked lovely and fooled several people.

LauderSyme · 03/01/2024 19:02

Not at the moment but I used to have some huge sunflowers made from paper and fabric which I thought were fab. I also had some rosebuds carved from wood.

I don't go for fake flowers which are trying to look real because I think they often fail.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 03/01/2024 19:03

I have real flowers and plants through most of the house, but some fake lavender in the spare bedroom, because I keep the door closed to that room and keep forgetting to water anything that lives in there.

The lavender doesn't look amazingly real, but it fits the aesthetic of the room and the colour scheme, so I keep it there to fill a space. I go in and blow the dust off every so often.

Zoomzoomzoomzoom0 · 03/01/2024 19:04

Another vote for lego flowers, they're awesome. Not trying to be anything other than unashamedly lego.

DoYouAgree · 03/01/2024 19:08

Yes to fake plants but no to fake flowers - only because I haven't found any decent ones.
I like to but a cheap bunch in Lidl every couple of weeks and they make me smile.

Jeannie88 · 03/01/2024 19:15

Yep, got some lovely ones, just quick clean and will change when looking past it. We used to have a lot of plants but now minimal flora! X

Loafbeginsat60 · 03/01/2024 19:48

I have lots of real house plants and one fake one in the bathroom. The ivy in there kept dying as there is no windows so I gave up and bought a fake one. It hangs from the ceiling and looks very realistic

LadyWithLapdog · 03/01/2024 19:49

I think from an environmental pov I should reduce real flower buying (all those air miles). I’ve succumbed to artificial Xmas tree, so maybe it’s not such a leap after all.
