Good Morning Everyone? What's everyone up to for Boxing Day?

I'm in my kitchen spot, have been here a while now, browsing my new books (Murdle and Merry Midwinter), making notes for next year before I forget, and scrolling t'interweb.

I've done a load of bedding washing (dd2 put her new stuff on yesterday), and am getting up to wash up the few pots there are in a mo.

Today is party food & leftovers picky day so I'll pop the oven on for the few extra bits I've got to cook & get dressed while it warms up.

Once they're cooked it's "help yourself to what you want" and mostly a day of chilling doing not much. I'm not good at doing nothing so will pick up one of my many crafty projects or my books again until I get ready for Panto later on.

What about all of you? 🎄

Lazy start to the day - tea in bed, iPad and TV. Walking to the marina to check over our boat (it'll be fine, but it's DH's floating man shed and he likes to keep an eye on it🙄😙). Afternoon will be spent couch-surfing and watching films, and dinner will be cold cuts, baked potato, coleslaw, and pickles. Perfect day, really.

Very slow and relaxing morning here. I'm browsing, DH is half watching a film/half snoozing and DC (teen) is still in bed. They've both got winter colds so taking it easy.

I've had croissants and smoked salmon brekkie with a shot of Bailey's in my coffee as a warmer. I've done the dishwasher and tidied away wrapping paper and boxes.

We will walk dog round the village soon then leftovers for lunch, more films or reading afternoon, some party food for tea, second dog walk and then cheese board might come out for the evening.

I love Boxing Day, might actually prefer it to Christmas

Finished work a couple of hours ago, so currently eating leftover roasties (delicious!), about to play a little bit of a new video game I got for Christmas then a long bath and bed!

I was up early thanks to the dog wanting to go out.
DH and DD8 are playing her new game for the switch. I'm contemplating another coffee whilst making boiled eggs.
Will be taking the dogs out for a run and some fresh air, older teens and MIL still in bed.
Other than that it's a lazy day planned here

Laundry,recycling,tidying up.
Then off to hospital to visit dh

So far 2am poke by the Floof for his tuna 1st breakfast which DH got. Then 7.54am poke by the Floof for his second tuna breakfast (but we are out of it) and games.

Just about to go to shops to get more cat tuna for Floof and have a turkey sandwich with coleslaw.

Then either see the seals and pups at Horsey or go swimming depending on energy levels/time, swimming is much closer.

Not much, I hope. DS off on his long journey home so I'll no doubt worry about him all day. DD yet to surface. DH and I just had poached eggs on toast he's in charge of dinner tonight. Will take the dog for a long walk this afternoon to pick up DH's car from my sister's and just have a chill day really. Lovely.

Nice bright morning in West Yorkshire so I've walked to Costa for some coffee - only takes half an hour. Nothing much else to do today really. Making pizza tonight. Might watch The Great Escape and Raiders of The Lost Ark - yes, they're both on TV later! Some food shopping to do tomorrow.

For context, I live alone and Christmas largely bypasses me so this is why I have time to spare and no stress and no one to please but me. I am well aware, from reading a few threads here yesterday, that lots of people are having a tough time with poisonous parents, grumpy grandparents, irritating in-laws and general fatigue and illness. I've been there too and I wish you all well.

I'm feeling quite tired after hosting yesterday so today is a "taking it easy" day. Lunch will be left overs from yesterday but that's good because I do love a reheated roast potato, tea later will be cheese and more cheese.

DH is planning to watch the racing on TV so I think I'll watch Claudia Winkleman and "The Piano at Christmas" on my laptop while doing a bit of knitting and eating chocolate. I loved the series when it came on TV earlier in the year and it's encouraged me to enquire about piano lessons for myself which I hope to start in the New Year.

If I feel a bit more energetic later this afternoon I'll go for a walk to look at the Christmas lights - some people here have really gone to town and they look fabulous.

@MrsFloof I saw the seals at Horsey earlier in the year. I couldn't believe how many there were on the beach. I'd love to see them with their pups.

Lots of pottering here so far. DH is walking the dogs and then we’re off to visit family for the rest of the day where there will be tons more food and games. Feeling very content.

I'm still in bed. Nowhere to go or anyone to see so I'm going to slob about until I can be bothered to get up.

I'm mainly tired thinking about what @lucysmam and others are doing 😃

Had a short walk, in bed with book now

We have been out in the morning sun, dead-hedging and tidying up round the fruit trees.

A brunch of meats, eggs and fruit is on its way then all the teenagers are having a sports afternoon here at home. It will be a mix of rounders, snooker, darts, shooting basketball and finally we will light a huge fire pit and sit outside watching the sun go down. The winner gets awarded a collectible prize, I have no idea what it is this year. Last year it was a Portmeirion bowl. We have put up a makeshift bar made of pallets and there will be mulled wine, cider, other drinks, cheeses, pies and soup. At about 6pm the fire dies down and we will go indoors for games. All subject to wind and rain, it this year it’s looking good!

I cooked loads of spuds yesterday so as to have some roasties left over. Currently snarfing those and having a glass of port. Christmas, innit. 😀

Good morning/afternoon lucysmam and all,
I had mince pies and cream for breakfast, since we were too full to eat them yesterday.
We are going to repeat the roast dinner from yesterday, since we have loads left - except that DH is peeling some more potatoes to roast in the air fryer, to make up for him eating all the left over ones. He can't walk past the dish without snaffling one.
I'm doing some laundry and general folding and tidying but I intend to spend the majority of my time on the sofa with my book.

Happy Boxing Day.

We had a walk this morning and DS tried out his new bike.

Quick 15 min clean, croissant and a coffee, and now watching the cricket with my Kindle and a blanket. DS is playing with his new toys and generally occupying himself really nicely.

Load of food leftover from yesterday to reheat and my body weight in cheese to snack on. I’m only cooking tomorrow as my parents are coming and they hate leftovers.

DH is at work.

DD and I are having a chilled day at home.

I have eaten chocolate for breakfast - undecided what to have later.

Can't be bothered to move off this sofa today. So tired, but chilled.
Might run a bath later and use one of my new Lush bath bombs. I've got so many over Xmas my house smells like a Lush Shop 😆

Currently in Emirates lounges sipping fizz and waiting to board plane. Just myself and DH travelling to Dubai today for three nights on our own before being joined by the "kids" and two of their partners for New Year celebrations at Atlantis with Sting topping the bill. It's the perfect rest after all the festivities and best of all no post Xmas clean up for me as the kids take care of that before they join us😀

DH has taken the dog over to the hills for a long walk, I’ve spent nearly 4 hours sorting out the storage under the bed (mainly crap), my far too much yarn stash (6 big bags put on local Facebook and all taken) and trying to get some order for my art materials. Very satisfying but I’m now completely exhausted and have given myself chest pain 😵‍💫🙄. Sitting down now with a long cold drink and MN.
I’ve also changed the bed and put the washing on. DS and family arrive tomorrow, so doing little for the rest of today!

Just returned from my PIL's where we spent Christmas Day and the night. I actually enjoy being there but it's always too much food, too much wine and too much sitting around, so glad to be home.
Today will be a lazy day, Boxing Day is my favourite. Will meet a friend for a walk later, other than that reading and browsing.
Tonight it's leftovers and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. Maybe some Baileys, but should probably have a sober night after all the Christmas drinks.

We've had a cooked breakfast and played a couple of games. I've just sat down to browse Facebook Christmas pictures and Mumsnet for a bit while DS gets ready to pop to his dads and DD to her boyfriends. Then I'll take the dog for a walk and read my new book until they're back.

Tonight is picky leftovers tea and we're catching up on Christmas specials and maybe a film.

Was hoping I wasn't alone in this - great Boxing Day tradition.

A present tidy up and getting rid of the box mountain. Looks like a tip trip tomorrow to get rid of boxes and glass.

I was going to re-silicon the bath, but that can wait for either tomorrow or Thursday.

Cup of tea and then nip the hoover over and relax for the afternoon. Will brew up a posh coffee later and do not much.
