Do you think working in the same school as your children can cause a negative affect on them

As in terms of bullying/being treated differently/singling out /any negative behaviour

Honestly, it's not great being the child of a teacher. My Mum was never my class teacher, but she taught in the primary school I attended. We share a surname and I have a strong resemblance to her - so everyone knew.
I could never win anything, or be chosen for anything special. But if I put a toe out of line she would find out. The other kids avoided me like the plague.

Yes, generally most decent teachers/TAs who are parents try not to be seen as partisan (I'm sure there are exceptions to this) but it leaves the child with no-one able to advocate for them if needed. If the person you're wanting to complain about is your boss, it muddies the waters quite a bit.

It’s not so bad for primary but pretty dreadful for secondary.
