I was in Venice a few years ago with my husband. We were standing on a bridge looking around when a gondola came into view. In it were the most beautiful man and women I have ever seen in my life. Both were just laid back relaxing.

Scandinavians! Just so many aesthetically stereotyped beautiful looking people, healthy, clear skin, perfect teeth etc. Just my experience of lots of travelling and personal opinion, a generalisation of course but everywhere I went, on many occasions to all the Scandinavian countries, very noticeable.

I used to work with someone who was just the most natural, un-made-up beauty. I don't really know what it was about her, but she was just stunning. She was lovely, too. She was someone who genuinely just looked good all the time, but with no effort.

In real life, Eva Mendes. I only really knew of her from that silly film (Hitch?) with Will Smith and she looked good on screen but in real life WOW she was ... radiant and gorgeous!

Stunningly beautiful with flawless skin and she was glowing with health and energy.

She captivated everyone in the room and seemed like a very nice and friendly person too.

I used to work for the NHS and worked with a woman who was the most stunning person I’d ever seen in my life. I even asked her if she’d considered modelling and she laughed and said lots of people had asked her that.

She was naturally skinny but with an hourglass figure, tall, with cheekbones like Angelina jolie, full lips like angie and piercing green eyes with long lashes and long jet black glossy hair.

Sometimes I used to inadvertently find myself staring at her lol. Not because I fancied her but because her features were just so exquisite they seemed almost unreal. She probably got that wherever she went and was thoroughly fed up with it. I did wonder why she never went for modelling though, she could have made way more than an NHS salary!

Oddly enough, very very beautiful people do not necessarily make the best models. A lot of models are facially quite plain, but are good blank canvasses to show off the clothes. Plus, a layperson's idea of a stunning beauty is not necessarily what agents are looking for. They have very specific size requirements, sometimes down to the millimetre. A friend of mine, who was not beautiful but was tall and 'skinny', was turned down for modelling because her hips were too wide for high fashion, but she was too skinny for catalogue and not pretty enough for makeup.

Yes that’s true- they need to photograph well and sometimes you can be beautiful in real life but still not be very photogenic. Equally I know some people who always look great in photos who aren’t particularly beautiful at all.

I will always remember this one guy I bumped into in town. He looked like he’d been sculpted by Michelangelo. He even spoke to me and I was so bowled over by his beauty I just mumbled something nonsensical and stood there with my jaw hanging open. He must have thought I was a right twat but bloody hell he was the finest looking man I’ve ever seen in my life. I sometimes think about him and wonder what lucky person ended up with that gorgeous specimen!
