Have a 3 year old and a 6 month old baby.

It is raining and it’s that cold, icy rain. I can’t honestly say being out in it would be fun for anyone but I would brave it if I just had the 3 year old. However, the baby complicates matters. So that’s out.

All the groups are on in the morning. How to fill the 12-5 time slot?

Depending on the layout of your room, you can challenge the 3 year old eg can you hop to the other side of the room before I count to 10, can you bunny hop across the room in less than 20 hops etc. This tires them out, baby enjoys watching and you get a sit down with a coffee.

Mine also likes playing pass etc with a balloon.

I always remember the excitement when my Nana would decide to clear out a cupboard that she didn’t use often.

This is a long time ago for me now, but I remember about once a week we used to go on a circular bus journey 😂. We used to catch the bus from our village at around 12.30, bring our packed lunch, stay on the bus while it tootled around the neighbouring villages and town, then eventually dropped us back in our village at around 2.15.
Plenty to look at, and only cost a couple of pounds!

Go to a garden centre with Christmas decorations and ideally a fish shop and walk around
defInitely nap!
playdates
play doh
painting
make xmas crafts
baking and decorating (you can drag that out, take a bus to tesco one afternoon, choose sprinkles etc, bake next day)
duplo
library (some have afternoon story times)

Ha- this, or Pets at Home - basically a free petting zoo without the petting bit. I burned many a wet afternoon looking at the Guinea pigs and rabbits.
