How do I get rid of out of date hand gel sustainably?

I've got lots.. Hand dispensers and litres of refill through a second job I had over lockdown who were brilliant at making everyone feel safe.
It's dated but every single bottle, gel, refill bottle is plastic.
Do I empty the contents? Would any organisation or charity want this?
I have no clue where to best get this stuff gone without adding to landfill.
Please.. Any ideas welcome 🤗

'Rare toxic cleaning chemicals' really? You thought we were all rubbing toxic cleaning chemicals all over our skin and our kids??

I also googled whether it's safe to pour down the sink. Seems to be ok as long as you pour lots of water down at the same time. I don't think it's going to cause a fire if it's diluted!

LOL did you stockpile?

Just use it for cleaning. Glass, mirror, taps, screens etc. It is just alcohol so doesn't clean as thoroughly as things like Cif - I mean, I wouldn't rely on it to remove all germs and bacteria from a bathroom or kitchen. But for getting little areas sparkling it's good.

LOL it's a sanitiser - it's entire job is to remove all germs and bacteria!

I imagine that the expiry date is because of the alcohol in it evaporating, rather than it going "off".

It will get slightly less effective but for non medical purposes I would jus keep using it

Era · 30/11/2023 08:18

The most sustainable thing you can do it use it. It will be fine even past the expiry date.
