No dairy, no nuts, no fruit!!

Got to make a dessert for Xmas day. My brother had allergies to nuts and most fruits (a long list of specific ones including apples, strawberries and bananas so he generally avoids all fruit to be on the safe side as the reactions are getting worse). His girlfriend is vegan.

What on EARTH can I make for pudding?

Brownies with a choice of cream, custard or ice cream (all easily veganable)

RagzRebooted · 16/11/2023 22:00

Rice pudding using coconut milk? Maybe too heavy. There's some lovely Pakistani desserts that you could probably make dairy free.
Google vegan desserts and then don't look at recipes with nuts or fruit in?

QuiltedHippo · 16/11/2023 22:02

Just something chocolately with no dairy, lots of options out there

daisydalrymple · 16/11/2023 22:06

Treacle tart with vegan vanilla ice cream

Mazuslongtoenail · 16/11/2023 22:07

Nobody needs a desert on Christmas Day. You eat the roast dinner till you have indigestion. That’s the rule.

NuffSaidSam · 16/11/2023 22:14

Ice cream (and vegan ice cream for the vegan)

Something vegan and chocolatey - Google recipes.

StopLickingTheDog · 16/11/2023 22:17

Or if you're feeling lazy Asda have a frozen vegan chocolate torte although it's a May contain for nut traces

SeaToSki · 16/11/2023 22:21

buche de noel with dark chocolate (check its df)

fill with marshmallow and peppermint sweets chopped very small

Whataretheodds · 16/11/2023 22:29

Is egg OK? If so meringue, lemon curd, non-dairy cream. If egg not ok, vegan meringue and....I'm not sure what!

TheSandgroper · 16/11/2023 22:38

Rice pudding with rice milk. Can be done in a slow cooker. Perhaps tip into a dish, sprinkle with more sugar and flash under a grill.

Serve with raspberries, rhubarb etc.

minipie · 16/11/2023 22:41

this looks nice, if he is ok with coconut milk? Biona coconut milk would work for the recipe as it separates the way that’s needed.

This is sacrilege.

Flickersy · 16/11/2023 22:51

Just buy vegan ice cream. Covers all bases, no fuss. Or get a vegan jelly.

gotomomo · 16/11/2023 22:59

Beetroot and chocolate torte, the recipe I had was vegan and gluten free. I used 1/4 ground almonds but can be substituted for more rice flour. If coconut cream is a no use soy

WrongSwanson · 16/11/2023 22:59

Lots of good recipes on here https://lucysfriendlyfoods.com/

My son is allergic to egg and milk and nuts and most fruit. He also used to be allergic to wheat!

There are pudding options!

Sounds good.
Would you share the recipe please?

Strokethefurrywall · 16/11/2023 23:11

I wouldn't even bother making one, I'd go store bought all the way with that list of no nos.

Vegan magnums for the win honestly.

margotrose · 16/11/2023 23:18

Vegan brownies with vegan ice cream.

KnickerlessParsons · 16/11/2023 23:30

Bakewell tart?

KnickerlessParsons · 16/11/2023 23:30

Ignore that -
Nuts 🙃

Cakeorchocolate · 17/11/2023 05:14

If you want an easy option, the Betty Crocker chocolate fudge brownie box mix meets the requirements (the triple chocolate one doesn't so don't pick the wrong one up), the devil's
food mix is good too.

Assuming you're brother risks foods with the "may contain" warning. If not, ignore those suggestions.

booksandbrooks · 17/11/2023 06:18

Vegan chocolate brownies would be my first thought.

You could also razz them up with vegan ice cream and toppings - crushed biscuit/ chocolate shavings / sprinkles if they're okay?

Oatly cream is also good.

You could trick them up to look more party like in little glasses and serve like chocolate trifles.
