I absolutely despise the mornings and getting up.

I’m 50 and I have never been a morning person but the older I am getting the more I am struggling with my morning routine.

DH alarm goes off at 5.30am which (even though he is quiet) disturbs me and I can’t fully return back to sleep. DS then gets up half hour later and is the noisiest person in the morning so after that I’m just snoozing on and off until I get up at 6.45. I then wake dd up (she hates mornings like her mother!). I will feel like a zombie for hours.

I long for the day when I can retire and slowly rise at my optimal time which is around 8-8.30am. Until that day, I will continue to hate every weekday morning!

All my friends are morning people and have no issue.

Anyone else like me, who loves their bed and lie-ins?

I hate being woken before 7am and was always strict with dc even when young that before 7am was sleep time. I now have 3 teens and 3 times a week at least I’m woken at 6-6.30am by them showering. My logical, rational brain feels this should be a good thing that they are getting up and clean etc but it make me so mad. It’s my precious sleep time! I realise I can’t voice this to them without sounding insane but I hate it so much.
