anyone started Botox and fillers in 30s?

I'm almost mid 30s and I wanted to hold off for as long as possible, however I can see a loss of volume in my face and it depresses me, particularly around my eyes and mouth area. Nasolabial folds are more pronounced and I've got the very start of marionette lines. Also have mild frown lines and crows feet, no forehead lines of yet.
I feel that I just like a bit more tired even if I've slept well, though I have been stressed lately. My diet is ok, probably too much sugar, however I've never smoked and I am teetotal.
I wear factor 50 daily and don't sunbathe etc.
I get told I have nice skin, but I can just see the difference in myself. I use tretinoin and moisturiser daily, but ageing is inevitable I suppose.
I don't want to buy into the whole youth is beauty thing, and I feel like I should accept my face is changing. I feel too young to be starting these procedures and to be seeing these signs of ageing, I wasn't expecting it until 40s.
Anyone else? I'm just worried about the cost and the upkeep too.

I'm waiting until 40s to get a brow lift. So many of my friends have migrated face filler and it looks very bad, I don't want to risk it.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/11/2023 22:16

I do t even know the names of those lines you've stated.

There's more to life than a line on your face. But I also imagine if you put on a little weight to your face it would plump them out? Skinny faces age way more quickly imo

I'm 37 and can definitely see myself being older but not really on a bad way. Embrace it, I say!

fantafruittwists · 11/11/2023 22:18

Nasolabial folds are nose to mouth lines, marionettes are lines at the corner of your mouth. I didn't give them a second thought a few years ago!
I could, I just don't want to put on weight elsewhere! I've checked my BMI and it's around 20.5 which seems healthy.
Migrated filler sounds awful!

I started botox at 31. For forehead lines best thing I've ever done, I permanently had my eyebrows raised. I think the muscles are practically dead now and it's taken years off me! Currently 41 and people regularly mistake me for you get than my years

I'd steer away from filler for the reasons mentioned above.

autumn1610 · 11/11/2023 22:21

Yes had Botox at 35 and I’m so
happy. I have had it twice now and just starting to wear off. I had a deep frown line that I was really conscious of. At the moment 100% would only get the one area. When I went for a consultation they drew all over my forehead and recommended 3 areas but I didn’t feel comfortable as it’s not what I went in for. So went somewhere else and got the area of concern. It’s changed my face as in I feel more confident, less grumpy and fresher, I had so many compliments after but was a look you look so refreshed, not what gave you had done. If you do it do it slowly and address your big concern you may find that addressing that makes all the difference

Passmeaplacard · 11/11/2023 22:23

I’m scared of filler but I’ve had Botox 3 times now and I’m 38. If you go to someone good it just makes you look fresher. I don’t know anyone with filler who looks natural though

MenAndWomenOfYore · 11/11/2023 22:23

Yep. Vanity made me reconsider, for it seemed the very thing designed to combat aging ended up ironically aging them instead. They're all having it dissolved.

Switcher · 11/11/2023 22:23

That is quite a low BMI. Healthy, but low, wouldn't hurt to out on a few pounds to keep your cheeks. I'd skip the filler and get Botox, I started at 42 and love it. I get it twice a year. It is expensive but I think it's quite important to keep looking fresh at work.

MenAndWomenOfYore · 11/11/2023 22:23

(I speak of Filler not botox)

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/11/2023 22:25

It's low end of healthy BMI!

gemloving · 11/11/2023 22:26

Just one thing: I never felt like anyone actually looks younger having Botox done, it just changes their face but nobody actually appears to me be more youthful.

If you think this will be make you feel more confident and happy, go for it. I personally think aging is a privilege. It's like society doesn't allow us to age, then people say something about graceful aging. What even is that? We all age, it's part of life and we should really see it as a privilege ❤️

fantafruittwists · 11/11/2023 22:41

I'm 9st 2 (weighed today) and think I'm 169cm! Maybe I could gain a little bit but for instance when I'm on my period and retaining water everywhere I dislike how puffy my face looks and I'm afraid of having that.
However the ageing is only going to get worse, I mean how will I feel at 50?

This is very sad, OP. For every woman who gets junk pumped into their natural bodies (which men rarely do), you condemn every other woman to endure ever-more shifting beauty standards.

Just be yourself. It's the most powerful thing you can do. And maybe get off Instagram or whatever social media has made you believe you need any of it.

fantafruittwists · 11/11/2023 22:46

Thanks, I will try to. Wrt the weight gain I have very disproportionate thighs, I am pear shaped so any weight gain goes there, I dislike the way it looks.

Lines don't matter in your 30s - or at any other time. You should be proud of the life you've lived. Look at Dame Judi Dench - she's nearly 90, has lots of lines and is still beautiful.
Just save your money & don't bother with any of this stuff.

fatherliamdeliverance · 11/11/2023 22:50

I'm thinking of going for it. 37. Nasolabial folds looking quite pronounced and forehead lines more noticeable after a few months of illness. I'm a bit overweight if anything (size 12/14 on a biggish frame so not huge) so it's not just on very slim faces that lines can start to show. No filler though, i've simply seen too many bad examples. At least botox just wears off. I'll only be going with a dr or dentist though. There seem a lot of local practitioners who I'm not sure am trained in the anatomy of the face and I don't want the wrong bits frozen!

MissAtomicBomb1 · 11/11/2023 22:54

Nothing against a small amount of Botox but if you end up going down the filler route as well, you are essentially making a choice between looking older or looking weird. Frankly, I'd choose older over weird

Is this a thing with cheek filler as well? I always assumed it was lips and have seen this in people, but I'm considering cheek filler and worry it'll migrate elsewhere. Obviously I'll ask the question at consultation, just wondering if it's a thing

She probably isn't the best example! She was bloody gorgeous to begin with, amazing bone structure! We aren't all so blessed 😬😅

suntannedsnowballs · 12/11/2023 00:46

I get my 11s done and my crows feet - my mum and husband don't even notice

I'm very slim so got my nasolabial done once but tbh I couldn't see much difference

They depress the life outta me but I don't want to look like a swollen fish so I may just make peace with them

Pisses me off no end though

Duvetfluff · 12/11/2023 00:53

I’ve got smokers lines, though I don’t smoke. Can filler b used or will it look odd? Can Botox do anything?

SB1210 · 12/11/2023 00:56

Grow old gracefully. Look at madonna. She looks awful

Irritatedandfedupandsad · 12/11/2023 01:03

I am late 50s and have intentionally lost 9 kilograms since early September . Happy with that but my face looks so lined.Genuinely think that being slimmer has aged me 😩Am not sure what to aim for.

smilesup · 12/11/2023 01:05

Oh OP please try and view your body in a different way. Lines and a few drops do not matter. You are getting older that's what is meant to happen.
I feel very sad that you see yourself this way.
I barely wear makeup, have lines, a bit of a tummy but am very happy with my life at 50. How I look is pretty insignificant what matters is my family, my friends, going out, having lots of fun and love and laughter not that my nasal whatever the fuck is a bit lined up.
Life is short, you will look old it's fine
.embrace it. Work on your confidence in other areas so it isn't as important. Getting old is fantastic. Not everyone has that privilege.

DeeCeeCherry · 12/11/2023 05:39

You're very slim. Have you dieted to get that way? As you also mentioned you're pear shaped and dont like your body either. If you arent naturally slim then with your BMI yes, it will lead to loss of volume in your face and that will make you look older. Especially around the cheek area.

For the things you're worried about, some of which I think could be partly resolved by gaining a little bit of weight, then have botox. Why not? Just remember you'll be wanting to keep it up for life. & that no matter all the botox and other beauty treatments out there, the day will come when you won't look young anymore no matter what.

I'm very much not anti botox etc but its not an eternal magic cure and you're going to have to come to terms with and accept how you look at some stage. Also be careful of not looking too 'done'. Fillers for marionette lines can be good but Ive seen women who develop a hamster look after having it a few times, even if it looked ok at first. Probably too much filler. So maybe less is more in that respect. Subtle treatments are the way forward.
