Sausage Roll or a meat pie

Can’t believe nobody has said it yet. Sandwich with chips smothered in salt and vinegar is the best combo ever

I am recently diagnosed Coeliac. But my favourite sandwich was a proper Aussie egg and iceberg lettuce white bread sandwich with grapes or a peach on the side.

Gherkins.

A snack is food you have between meals. Not part of your meal. So why would you be having a sandwich & a pie as a snack??

if your sandwich is for lunch you would be having a sandwich & whatever FOR lunch, no 'snack' involved.

I wouldn't have a pie or sausage roll with a sandwich, but I would have a packet of crisps, but if I was very hungry or cold I might have soup & a sandwich (crisp butty).

A few plum tomatoes, cucumber sticks or a mini bunch of grapes. If the sandwich is already very salady, then those lentil chips in the lovely deep blue bags or ready salted crisps.

If it's a meal deal, I might choose a millionaire shortbread or carrot sticks and hummous. Sometimes choose a yoghurt but save for breakfast next day.

No sausage rolls or pies needed with a sandwich, surely they're the basis for a totally different meal in themselves!

I couldn't have a sandwich and a sausage roll. I don't normally have anything with a sandwich, but if pushed it would be crisps. The sandwich would be my lunch. A snack would be a chocolate bar or fruit.

A cheese sandwich with a side of black olives.

Thommasina · 21/10/2024 08:33

A large Haimisha pickle or a packet of crisps, then an apple.

Ideal sandwich would be egg or cheese based. If cheese then preferably toasted.

Blueberries and baked potato wedges.

Nairns gluten free cheese bits ( similar to cheddars)

I would never have a pastry item with a bread item.

With a sandwich I would either have crisps, salad or soup.

Crisps or chips with a sandwich. Ideally a cheese and onion sandwich with salt and pepper Kettle Chips or salted and vinegared chunky chips.

Crisps or chips with a pie/sausage roll too but never a sandwich and a pastry item. That's like having two mains and no side dish.

Believe me, I'm not an under-eater. I have a big appetite but I really don't think I could eat a meat pie with a sandwich! Too much in terms of stodgy carbs.
