This is a derelict/inhabitable property.

Something that only a builder could possibly take on...

The asking price is a joke.

NameHopper2000 · 08/11/2023 15:49

I'd take it on for 200k less, because tradies are impossible to find at the moment. It's the garden that's sold it to me.

minipie · 08/11/2023 15:49

Oh my word.

Bet the neighbours are absolutely desperate for it to get done up.

hologramvirus · 08/11/2023 15:49

Bloody hell, London is expensive!

Surely a builder will buy, do it up and sell it on.

threecupsofteaminimum · 08/11/2023 15:50

Fuck that.

It'll take hundreds of thousands to sort.

hologramvirus · 08/11/2023 15:52

JaninaDuszejko · 08/11/2023 15:20

London prices are insane. You could buy that house and live like a squatter or you could live in the north and live in this for the same price.

Think of the heating bills though! : )

ismu · 08/11/2023 15:53

There's one like that near me not for sale, uninhabitable and just sat there. The family cut the grass occasionally.
I can't understand it.

Crikeyalmighty · 08/11/2023 15:55

I would describe it as a complete overpriced money pit!! How the hell did it get like that

Crikeyalmighty · 08/11/2023 15:57

@TotalOverhaul Yep- I will have the flat thanks!! The obsession with 'houses' is nuts if it's a complete dump

FauxWhiteOrchid · 08/11/2023 15:58

Your comments are hilarious.

The London house needs to be knocked down. I bet there are a few furry friends living underneath the floorboards.

OP posts:
Pinksmyfavoritecolour · 08/11/2023 16:05

The price of it is crazy, the amount you would need to spend on it, criminal!

LoobyDop · 08/11/2023 16:09

Has that garden been tarmacked and then moss grown over the tarmac? There’s surely no way it would be cost effective to take that on.

Ylvamoon · 08/11/2023 16:12

No a blank canvas...
Someone went to gret lengths to stage this as as a cheap for London property!

BritneyBookClubPresident · 08/11/2023 16:15

Just looking at the bathroom picture made me feel dirty Envy

LoobyDop · 08/11/2023 16:23

Reminds me that when I was looking for a shared rental as a student, we saw that you could buy a house for £15k, and clearly that would work out cheaper than rent. Called a mortgage adviser to discuss the possibility, and he (quite kindly) asked how much research I’d done and whether this £15k house was habitable- for example, did it have a bathroom? I very snootily informed him that all houses have bathrooms and if he wasn’t going to take me seriously I’d take my business elsewhere.

YouNeverCanTellWithBees · 08/11/2023 16:32

Nearly 700k for that?! 😂

mumda · 08/11/2023 16:34

More ecologically sustainable blank canvas than a perfect adequate house which people seem to want to replace the kitchens and bathrooms in "because".

maddiemookins16mum · 08/11/2023 16:38

I always feel a pang of sadness when I see these kinds of houses. It was obviously a home at one point.

I’m even worse when I see a home offered with no onward chain and then in the corner of the lounge photo there’ll be a walking frame or something.

ProvisionsOnTheDock · 08/11/2023 16:44

I quite like the wallpaper!

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 08/11/2023 16:48

Please tell me the house in the OP is located in a VERY expensive area of London... 😮

Burgundylover · 08/11/2023 16:49

I know it's an expensive area but there are houses nearby in good condition for sale for £75k to £100k more. This should be much cheaper. You do wonder how someone has let such a valuable asset go to waste like this.

CesareBorgia · 08/11/2023 16:50

I saw a house for sale and noticed cat bowls in the kitchen - aww, they've got cats, thinks cat-lover me. On the photo of the master bedroom I noticed the cat had been sick on the duvet! A real home-from-home for me 😃

Thenewnewme · 08/11/2023 16:53

Sarahconnor1 · 08/11/2023 14:49

At least the ceiling tiles have started to fall off by themselves, that'll save someone a job!

Whats picture 8 about?

I think to highlight the state of the windows. The estate agent doesn’t want anyone viewing just to say there is more work than expected.

AbbeyGailsParty · 08/11/2023 16:57

I love photo 8, the arty shot showing the rotten window frame. Because that’s sold it to me, of course.

threecupsofteaminimum · 08/11/2023 16:57

The 'bathroom' gives me horror moves vibes
