Blimey! Victoria Coren Mitchell has had a second baby at 51

Congratulations to her. I caught up with OC last night and thought she looked pregnant but dismissed it when i remembered she’s around my age. Then i saw the announcement today. I’m knackered just thinking about it!

That kid will probably not be much like an average teenager, not With parents like that. They will be absolutely fine. It’s ordinary folks like me who would really struggle as old mothers not someone as privileged as VC.

I find them both incredibly irritating, probably irrational but their voices wind me up. The little speeches she gives at the beginning and end of Only Connect are not remotely funny. Still, good luck to them. A new life is always something to celebrate.

I do find her really funny, but aside from that I wish TV allowed more women the space to be idiosyncratic and unique in the way they do men. There aren't many as individual as Victoria Coren fronting or even appearing on shows.
