My kids eat a mango with the skin on!

I worked with a woman once who would eat the banana skin!!!!

My little brother used to eat kiwi fruit skin and all! He said it made his tongue itch- he did not rub off the hairs! 😅

My favorite pizza topping is cinnamon apples with jalapeños and streusel.

My daughter eats bananas length-wise, and when she eats apples she eats the core- everything but the seeds and stems.

I'll likely get called a monster for this one but I eat Kit Kats without breaking the fingers apart. I just bite right into them. You get a lovely thick bit of chocolate between the fingers that way.

I also (used to, not had them for years) just bite into Cheesestrings instead of peeling them apart.

Tarkan · 27/10/2023 03:33

And my favourite pizza topping is anchovies, mushrooms and pineapple. Yes, all together.

ClaraBourne · 27/10/2023 04:14

I eat raw black pudding and chicken wing bones (the pointy bit that is all crunchy).

NotMuchElseWeCanDo · 27/10/2023 05:05

When I was young I'd come home from school and eat a fish finger straight from the freezer.

It never appeared to do me any harm, although I'm surprised I wasn't on the loo or didn't break a tooth!

@Chelsea26 🤣🤣🤣 I feel like mine is tame now.

No no no.

  1. Eat top layer
  2. Scrape off filling with top teeth
  3. Eat bottom layer

No to both

Eat top biscuit off one
Eat bottom off the other
Put remaining top, bottom and filling together to make a mega Bourbon.

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 09:13

I like to eat the inside of my fishfingers first with the peas or whatever other vegetables I'm having, then layer up the crispy outsides with tomato sauce and eat them like a sandwich. Obviously I don't do that in public!

Iloveburgerswaymorethanishould · 27/10/2023 09:25

I eat most things upside down. Crisps have to be opened upside down, I turn burgers over as well. My OH thinks I'm daft, but it's one of my funny quirks lol.

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 17:41

@MrsSkylerWhite quick correction, sorry. It's cyanide that's in apple pips, not arsenic!

MargotBamborough · 27/10/2023 17:43

I won't eat anything bigger than a raisin or an M&M in a single bite. A Malteser is two bites.

I always make a mess with sushi or canapés because I can't just stuff them in my gob.

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 17:48

Cheddar cheese and honey together is delicious, as are cheap sausages and cheap marmalade.
I also do the keeping the best bit until last thing, whether it be bourbon biscuits, jaffa cakes or a roast dinner, but I thought that was normal!
When I'm very tired or feeling ill I like fork food - as in something mushy that doesn't need cutting up and can be eaten from a bowl with just a fork (or a spoon if I'm feeling really lazy!)

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 17:53

@MargotBamborough do you have a REALLY tiny mouth? Or were you constantly told off for putting too much food in your mouth at one time as a child? It must take you forever to eat a meal!
Mind you, I used to work with somebody who took three bites to eat a single pringle and I didn't know how that was even possible, until being really ill and losing my appetite a couple of months ago, when that is what I did as well. Sadly now my appetite has come back so I can't eat Pringles any more.

No, normal sized mouth and I'm not even a slow eater. I think I eat normal meals normally, anything you'd eat with a knife and fork etc. It's just small things like snacks that I have to bite into even if they're not really big enough to justify it.

Sandwiches should be cut diagonally not into squares. If someone else makes my sandwich and cuts it horizontally, the round end is better than the square

Well it depends what the sandwich filling is....
bacon, or cheese or tomato & mayonnaise should be cut into squares 🥪 🥪
but cream cheese & jam, or ham or banana should be cut into triangles.

Toast should always be cut into triangles!

But..... what if a sandwich doesn't have a rounded or square end... I don't care and sometimes just put the top whatever way round. Only on mine... my husband says it could be grounds for divorce...

Don't think I do anything that peculiar any more but had loads of odd food fads as a child:

  • smashing up a bag of crisps and eating them by tipping the smashed up bits from the bag into my mouth
  • buttering both sides of hot toast so that it was completely soggy and dripping
  • as a couple of pp's have mentioned - eating the chocolate from the outside of crunchies, bounties and Fry's Turkish delight
  • chopping up my entire roast dinner into tiny pieces, mixing it all up and eating it with a spoon

I eat pies upside down as my favourite bit is the top crust.

unvillage · 27/10/2023 21:01

Loads of things.

Lick the flavour off every type of crisp before eating. Monster Munch a particular favourite.

Twix - chocolate, biscuit, toffee, in that order.

Maltesers - try to eat all the chocolate off first.

Daim - same.

Jaffa cakes - chocolate, cake, orange slice at the end.

Always eat kiwi skins.

Fish fingers - a triumph if I can eat the breading before the fish falls apart.

Coated peanuts (sensations et al) - I sometimes keep the coatings of multiple peanuts in my cheek until soft, eating the nuts inside, then eat all the coating at once. The same texture thing as the licked crisps, I guess. I've done that since I was a child.

As a kid I used to buy salad cream with my pocket money and eat it from the bottle. I haven't done that for 20 years but I do love a condiment, fish fingers are just a conveyance for tartar sauce.

Regret to say that's probably not all but those are the ones I can think of. And I used to deny that I had sensory issues.

unvillage · 27/10/2023 21:11

Oh, I forgot! When I have a supermarket sandwich, or sometimes a homemade one, usually has to be cheese and onion - triangle cut, I eat the crusts first, and then slowly around the filling until it's a circle. I will nibble smaller and smaller until its the most perfect little circle.

Then I eat it.

And then the second slice!

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 21:13

@AdaColeman - you eat cream cheese & jam! Together! 😲😩😱. I thought I was weird! I can manage a cheesecake, but not together in the middle of bread. That is definitely a step too far.

That's a favourite breakfast here, especially with black cherry jam, on brioche.
I also eat hard sheep cheese with black cherry jam, and blue cheese on plain chocolate digestives or ginger thins.

You should try it @DilemmaDelilah, it makes your tastebuds sing!

LittlestG · 26/10/2023 21:22

I eat pies by taking the top off and eating the pastry, then eating the filling and then eating the rest of the pastry afterwards. DH thinks it's very weird. 🤣

I do this too.

take top off the cool the insides, eat filling with the veg and potato, then eat top and bottom with more veg. Never eat the filling with the pastry

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 22:24

@AdaColeman I think the problem is that I don't really like cream cheese. I don't like cream itself, and I don't like the texture of cream cheese and find the thought of putting it with bread absolutely disgusting. I do like hard cheese though, and cheese with honey, so I don't dislike the idea of cheese with jam, just a cream cheese and jam sandwich. (Shudder)

DilemmaDelilah · 27/10/2023 22:32

@TheUltima and @LittlestG . I like Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies, with boiled potatoes and veg. I have to take the crusty top off and put that on my plate separately, then all the other elements, including the soft pastry that is under the crispy lid, in their own separate piles. (I am autistic, so bear with) Then the veg gets eaten with the soft pastry and a little bit of gravy (because I don't like veg much), then the potatoes with the meat and remaining gravy, and lastly the crispy top gets eaten in my fingers. Yum! I will have to put some pies on my next grocery order.

FrangipaniBlue · 27/10/2023 23:03

@AdaColeman I've found my kindred spirit!!!

Cheese + chocolate = food of the gods

I've never met anyone else who eats them together.

DH says he would never have married me if he'd known 😂
