Why do you have to use the the F word on the the internet.

OP posts:

Fuck is such a good word though isn't it? I've tried all sorts of substitutes but nothing is as satisfying as a good old fuck.

Tinybrother · 26/10/2023 09:56

I’m contractually obliged.

5YearsLeft · 26/10/2023 09:58

To be fair, I curse a lot, and I type exactly how I speak. They have studies that have apparently proven swearing is good for pain management, and unfortunately, if I’m on MN, I’m usually in pain, so maybe it’s doing me some good. If it offends you, I believe there’s another parenting forum that bans swearing? Maybe it would work for you, OP? I’d fit in there like a goose at a duck convention.

SpicedAppleAndFreshCider · 26/10/2023 10:01

I swear a lot IRL, especially when driving.

This is the truth. Emphatic, lands with a thump and leaves the recipient in no doubt that you are not chuffed at all with the goings on. And the syllables can be drawn out to really express disapprobation. No raised voice needed.

Hear hear. Also extremely useful for teaching grammar.

Why do you have to use the f word on the internet.
Dontcallmescarface · 26/10/2023 10:20

I type exactly how I speak (unless it's a formal email), and I give absolutely no fucks about it.

ColleenDonaghy · 26/10/2023 10:27

If you don't like swearing or you're reading somewhere that you don't want swears coming up on your screen, then this may not be the place for you.

FuckKnowsMate · 26/10/2023 10:39

Fuck knows mate

ThoughtEvokingReflectiveFemale · 26/10/2023 10:56

To get to the other side?

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/10/2023 10:57

You don’t. I can if I want to 🤷‍♀️

Beansinyourears · 26/10/2023 10:58

Hahahahaha

MiniBossFromAus · 26/10/2023 11:02

I love swearing. Over here cunt is a term of endearment.

When things get very stressful DH and I sing showtunes with swear word substitution for fun.

We bought swearing bingo as our boxing day boardgame.

The only time I don't swear is in work meetings. At all other times, I swear like a trooper and honestly don't give a flying fuck who hears / reads.

ManchesterLu · 26/10/2023 11:31

Because I fucking want to.

I probably say fuck more in real life than on the internet actually.

It's a good, solid, versatile word

This, ancient Anglo-Saxon term. Good to keep traditions alive.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 26/10/2023 12:27

Fuck is expressive and completely optional

readbooksdrinktea · 26/10/2023 12:30

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 26/10/2023 09:53

Me too. I blame lockdown. That started my fuck habit and I can't break it.

To be fair, the world is pretty fucked. It fits...

I use it too much. Because I'm so fucking tired. Just tired.

MatthewsMumFromTikTok · 26/10/2023 12:49

So OP didn't bother to come back??

AsWrittenBy · 26/10/2023 12:57

because I fucking want to

Why dont you? @Albertusforster

stayathomer · 26/10/2023 12:59

I think on here anyway it's to show you're pissed off! I've tried to ease up on cursing in real life, it is horrible to hear it casually thrown about so much now and hearing kids say it is even worse, but online I'd think it's to prove a point

ITriedToStopSwearingButICunt · 26/10/2023 13:03

I don't have to, but I want to.

jlpth · 26/10/2023 13:04

It's very expressive and versatile.

It works as a noun, verb, adjective and much more.

I enjoy using it so I do.

It isn't against any rules, so I'm OK to use it.

IDoNotMoisturise · 26/10/2023 13:08

Cos I am a twat

CovetedAsFuck · 26/10/2023 13:12

it is horrible to hear it casually thrown about so much now

no it isn’t
