Please share movie scenes that moved you. I have 2. First one is Mama Mia here we go again when Donna snd Sophie do a duet at her baby’s christening (even typing this I’m welling up ). Also another the end of Artificial Intelligence where the little robot boy has one last perfect day with his mum then he gets in the bed with her knowing she would never wake up. Never heard anyone else mention this one. Totally sobbed!

The cave scene in The English Patient, when Almasy says You're wearing the thimble, and Katherine says ‘Of course, you idiot. I always wear it, I've always worn it, I've always loved you’

If you haven't seen the film it will mean nothing to you -

It's one of the best films ever made.

Terms of Enderament when Emma is dying and brings her two boys into her room to say goodbye, I've watched that movie so many times and I still sob at that part

TV movies series, but the scene in Foyle's War when David's body is brought onto the beach and his father describes how he was killed at Dunkirk by a bullet that came out of nowhere. Seen it so many times and it still makes me cry.

Manchester by the sea when Casey affleck is being interviewed by the police then walks out and grabs something of the policeman (trying not to spoil it) Casey is amazing in that whole film, such a good actor but that scene gets me like no other

Return of the King, when they’re saying goodbye to each other at the end.

Titanic, a few scenes. The last scene. The one where the mum’s tucking the children up in bed and also just before Rose is rescued, I always think there is a split second that she considers just staying there to die before she tries to get them to find her.

The ending of Marley & Me, especially ‘You’re a great dog’. Even worse now we own a Labrador…

Multiple Disney films, I agree with Coco and Up. Also, the Lion King, The Fox and the Hound and Lilo and Stitch.

The ‘I am Moana’ scene in Moana where her grandmother appears, I get goosebumps with that song.

When the little girl squirrel falls in love with Arthur in Sword in the Stone, I always felt so sad for her when he becomes human again.

When Gurgi dies in the Black Cauldron.

Final scene in Gorillas in the Mist when the gorilla links the stones on the graves to show that Dian Fossey was “one of them”. Had me wailing 😭

An old film called the champ. Where this child's dad dies in front of him and the boy is screaming "don't die champ don't die!"

My girl - "he needs his glasses, he can't see without his glasses "

The end of Green Mile

The end of the film Sleepers

The end scene of the 70s Watership Down, where the black rabbit of death comes for the stiff, old age Hazel, and Hazel wants to go with him but turns to look at all his grandcildren/baby rabbits playing in the sun, and the black rabbit says you don't need to worry about leaving them, they're ok. It's time, Hazel. And then you see spirit Hazel, restored to youth, jumping and running off with the black rabbit....

Just too poignant.

The end of Bohemian Rhapsody. I sat sobbing in the cinema with an embarassed DD.
The last scene of Nowhere Boy where John walks up the street into his future.

captivate · 22/10/2023 08:37

Stepmom - the scene where they are both in the restaurant talking about Anna's future wedding and Isabel says "my worst fear is that she will be thinking 'I wish my mom was here'" and Jackie replies "my worst fear is that she won't".

Wrecks me every time and I have just cried typing that out.

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/10/2023 08:39

Not a movie but a video on YouTube of a chimp who believed her baby was still born then realises it is alive, visceral reaction and tears every single time.

The end of The Bucket List when they tell Morgan Freemas's wife he didn't survive the operation..
Then Jack Nicholson giving his eulogy... Reminded me of when the paramedics told me DH had died.
I was watching TBL in the village hall at a film night and was sobbing so loudly that I had to go to.the back of the hall.

pinkpuppy98 · 22/10/2023 08:45

The 'Tears In Rain' scene towards the end of Blade Runner, where Rutger Hauer's Roy Batty does his 'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...' monologue to Harrison Ford's Deckard. Along with the exquisite Vangelis soundtrack, it gets me every time.

ThreeRingCircus · 22/10/2023 08:51

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire when Cedric Diggory's dad sees that his son is dead and he cries "My boy..... that's my boy." Gets me every time.

saddosam · 22/10/2023 08:53

Edward Scissorhands when he gets left all alone at the end. I always remember sobbing as a child and my dad telling presuming it was because the film had scared me when really I just felt so sorry for poor old Ed.

charabang · 22/10/2023 09:07

Atonement when it is revealed how Cecelia and Robbie don't make it. Chokes me every time.

PuppyMonkey · 22/10/2023 09:17

Aw, I love lots of these - OP the two you mention in your OP also get me. My sister kept telling me how “feel good” Mama Mia 2 was etc etc, when I went, my DDs virtually had to support me walking back to the car park I was so upset.GrinBlush

Schindler’s List, the whole movie I was in tears but the scene at the end where the real people and the actors playing them lay the stones down - Sad. Had to be taken to the pub and bought a brandy after this.

Oh it’s the toast to George Bailey “the richest man in Bedford Falls” line that really chokes me up.
