Cost of a pint of lime a soda?

I was in a pub yesterday, for the lime and soda on the round (for my nephew who doesn’t drink alcohol), went back for it which is how I know how much it cost.
How much would it cost in your local?
In mine, they’d usually give it to you for free but I wasn’t at my local!!
Before anyone comes on to tell me I shouldn’t expect anything for free/col meaning they need to charge/someone has to serve, collect the glasses and wash the glass etc, I’m aware of those things and didn’t expect it for nothing. I was just surprised as at our local they’d not charge for it if part of a round.
It was lime cordial and then soda from a gun, not bottled. No ice or fresh wedge of lime.

That should say I forgot the lime and soda on the round!
Clearly I also forgot to proofread 😂

It cost 10p in Manchester Wetherspoons last week. They only charge for the splash of cordial.

In my village, it would be about £2.90

OldTinHat · 14/10/2023 16:04

£1.70 in my local.

Free or £1 everywhere I tend to go.

gotomomo · 14/10/2023 16:06

£1.40 here

DisforDarkChocolate · 14/10/2023 16:07

I'd expect to pay the same as any soft drink on tap. No idea what they charge near me though.

QueenOfWeeds · 14/10/2023 16:08

In the exact same pub, 20p, £1 or £1.40 depending on who rings it through. I never like to argue over the cost because I don’t know what it should really be!

Umph · 14/10/2023 16:08

I paid £4.50 (twice!) at a pub recently with a meal. It was on a tab and I didn’t realise how horrifically expensive it was! I was pretty pissed off about that tbh.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 14/10/2023 16:11

50p for a half pint, so I guess £1 for a pint, but I would not know for sure because I am a lady and therefore go for the dainty option Grin

No, a coke would be much more.

twobluechickens · 14/10/2023 16:13

I once (grudgingly) paid £3.50 for a lime and soda at a pub in Highbury, London. This was nearly 15 years ago and I asked the barmaid if she was joking, given that pints of beer were around £3.50-£4 then. It was 40p in my [London] local at the time. She was not joking and we didn't go back to that pub again. Cordial and fizzy water from the gun, per a PP. Fucking ridiculous.

Yajebbend · 14/10/2023 16:14

Try alcohol free cocktails £8 similar price to actual cocktails without the alcohol duty tax

Startyabastard · 14/10/2023 16:15

30p in a pub near me or in the centre of Worcester it was £2 bastard quid!!!!!
I think 75p could be a compromise.

HironsBirons · 14/10/2023 16:15

Free or 50p in my local

WanderingAroundintheLark · 14/10/2023 16:15

37 p

RoseRows · 14/10/2023 16:17

70p-£1

Atmytethersend · 14/10/2023 16:17

Free or 50p depending on who's working

ActDottie · 14/10/2023 16:19

In 2015 when I worked behind a bar it was 70p for half pint and 1.40 for a pint. Same price as a squash

Millybob · 14/10/2023 16:21

I'd have thought about £1-ish but haven't ordered one in years. To be fair, pubs aren't there to provide a social space for people who don't bring them any profit.

jesmonabullets · 14/10/2023 16:24

I paid £1.90 for a half pint of lime and soda earlier this week.

foreverbasil · 14/10/2023 16:24

Free

crackofdoom · 14/10/2023 16:27

£1 at my local. Free at the last Wetherspoons I went in, which made me hate them a bit less.

To the PPs pointing out that pubs aren't there to provide you with cut price water: well no, but customer goodwill is a precious thing. If I'm spending £5 a pint in your pub for 11 months of the year, it would be a bit foolish to damage that goodwill by charging me £3.50 for a pint of water when I'm doing sober October, wouldn't it 🙄.

LoreleiG · 14/10/2023 16:27

Twenty years ago in my local it cost barely anything - maybe max 60p?

verdantverdure · 14/10/2023 16:31

£4.50 for a pint of it

Worplesdon, Surrey recently

A large G&T was £14

Pints were all over £7

Bumpinthenight · 14/10/2023 16:32

It cost me £5.25 for a lime and soda, diet Pepsi and a J20 the other day.
