Wrong Evri Parcel contents!

Margo34 · 12/10/2023 08:24

What to do please?

I have ordered something online and so expected an Evri delivery.

Received the Evri delivery but the contents are not mine - it's someone else's order with their name and address and order contents on the packing slip but my name address and details on the outer parcel box. I suspect the person detailed on the packing slip has my order in their parcel, and I've got there's.

I couldn't find an Faq for this! What should I do?

Contact the company you ordered the goods from.

Evri have delivered it correctly as it's your name and address on the outside. It's not their mistake.

Whinge · 12/10/2023 08:27

I would get in touch with the retailer / seller from where you bought your item.

scrantonelectriccity · 12/10/2023 08:28

Contact the company seems the obvious thing

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/10/2023 08:28

As above, Evri don't pack the boxes, they deliver them. The retailer needs to resolve this.

OakTreesAreTheBest · 12/10/2023 08:33

Was it sent via InPost lockers, do you know? There's a group on Facebook set up for exactly this reason. I think Inpost parcels can go in the boxes unlabelled (using a code) and a label is added later. Not sure if Evri ones also do this but they can definitely be sent using the lockers.

I always print a label myself for this reason.

Agreed.

Evri have absolutely nothing to do with what is in the box so not sure why they hold any responsibility. The error obviously occured when the company were packing the parcels.

Margo34 · 12/10/2023 08:35

The retailer I purchased from is different to the retailer of the contents in the parcel though.

OP posts:
QuilBill · 12/10/2023 08:35

It's still the retailer you have a contract with though.

A charity.

The contents in the box are from a different charity unrelated.

Not sure why you're repeatedly naming Evri in this thread, it's not their fault the seller gave them a parcel to deliver with the wrong contents. Also lots of companies trade as different businesses.

Still contact the retailer you purchased from, if there's an issue with their supplier that's for them to deal with

So you contact the charity you brought it from like you would in if this happened from elsewhere. They were the ones who packaged the items wrong.

looking4pup · 12/10/2023 08:45

Strange how you think the mix up is to do with Evri.

hedgehoglurker · 12/10/2023 08:49

There's probably one warehouse or company that packs goods for several charities. Your order was mixed up, so you contact your charity that you placed the order with.

Evri fulfilled their delivery, as they could only go by the label. Nothing to blame them for here.

Not really. I'm expecting an Evri parcel, I received an Evri parcel.

I don't know the ins and outs of packing, whether the retailer outsource their packing to Evri for example or what's gone wrong. The fact that the retailer I purchased from and the retailer for the contents of the Evri parcel differ also suggests to me that it's an Evri issue possibly.

It's really odd, especially as the OP hasn't named the charity she purchased the items from. Confused There was no need to mention the delivery company by name.

OP isas others have said you need to get in touch with the charity you purchased the items from. It doesn't matter who delivered the parcel, they're not to blame for a mix up that happened before they even recieved the parcel.

Evri isn't the retailer though they are a delivery company just the same as yodel, royal mail or UPS.

They delivered the parcel to the address on the label, I don't get why you think they have played any part in the mix up???

SadlyACupOfTeaDoesNotSolveEverything · 12/10/2023 09:07

You need to contact whoever you ordered from. The courier has nothing to do with this whatsoever.

QuilBill · 12/10/2023 09:24

What about the fact that the label on the box was your name and address and it was delivered to you at that address?

Should Evri open every parcel and check that the invoice matches the address label?

Or do you think Evri packaged your item?

I agree with a previous poster, these items are probably packaged up at some central warehouse somewhere.

mindutopia · 12/10/2023 09:33

This happened to me with Amazon. I ordered 5 litres of pickling vinegar (to make vast quantities of pickled eggs). What I got was an extra large packet of Tena for Men pads (yes, this is a thing!). The address on the label was mine, but the name was not. I googled the name and found a man of approximately the right age to possibly need male incontinence pads living about 300 miles away. I suspect Mr. Charles Johnston of Earls Court was as flummoxed that instead of the incontinence pads he ordered, he randomly received a 5 litre jug of vinegar. 😂Sorry it was Amazon, so no help, I just went through Amazon to contact the seller.

You'll need to go direct to the seller as well. Really though, it's the seller who is responsible for making sure the correct labels go on the correct parcels (we ship with Evri daily), so it's them you need to go back to for refund/replacement. The seller will be the ones putting the labels on at home, or they will take them to a drop off site and have the labels printed there and hand the person at the counter the parcel for each label. So the seller has messed up somewhere and will be the one who needs to contact the other buyer to get your item back/replaced.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/10/2023 14:01

Evri have fulfilled their contract with the charity so you need to take it up with the charity

Blahbie · 12/10/2023 14:07

I'd take pictures of everything including original packaging and send them an email explaining your predicament! Hopefully someone somewhere will realise and try and rectify the issue.

Clairmation · 12/10/2023 14:15

So this happened to me a few months ago! You need to contact the place you placed the order from. It could be Evri's fault but they will do nothing about it.

I ordered a bag from FatFace, I received two packages from Evri! One was from ebay (a worn pair of shoes) and the other was from a TikTok shop (bath bombs). No way they would have come from the same warehouse. They had my name and address on the sticker but it was on top of another sticker. I ended up carefully peeling off the sticker with my details on and sent it on.
