Fascinates me just how fanatical some people about their preferred politician to the point of literally berating and shaming anyone who offers even the mildest criticism. Imagine having to deal with such people in real life.

Joe Biden can barely string a sentence together these days, we all know it, and I listen to multiple US commenters who are expressing real concern because they don't actually know who is in charge right now as he is clearly incapable.

I think the likes of @CallieRedux are absolutely terrified by that knowledge as well they should be, so will do anything they can to make excuses for him and shut down criticism in case even more people become aware of how precarious a state the leader of one of the most powerful countries in the world is in.

He's so nasty. I can't stand to even look at decrepit politicians, just so deeply disgusting inside and out. He's particularly nauseating, racist lying fuckwad.

Well there certainly seems to be a strange little corner of Mumsnet that appears to believe the speeches of American presidents are delivered for their entertainment.

Obama chose Biden to be his VP because of his many years of experience in Washington and the huge esteem in which he was held in the Democatic Party and across the aisle as a legislator and a coalition builder. In other words, for his substance, as opposed to his style.

It's sad to see there are a great many people here who appear not to know the difference.

I think at this stage it's actually quite cruel of whoever is supposed to care for Biden, to allow this farce to continue. He is very obviously in quite serious decline.

He had bran in surgery in 1988. Please note that techniques used by neurosurgeons in 1988 were not as advanced as they are now, less sophisticated, with unknown future consequences. This has definitely affected Biden in a long term - his brain functions, etc..

Please cite a credible source about his "bran in" surgery, and reputable information about the outcomes.

I can't link as I'm on my phone, but if you google 'Biden cognitive decline' the first two that come up are from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

But my opinion is based on seeing a few videos of him recently, and to me, it's really obvious. I know someone with dementia, and there are plenty of 'tells'. Anyway, I think it's a shame for the poor old fella. He should be putting his feet up and being looked after, not put on a world stage for people to criticise.
