Any adult adventure calendars @PollyMumsnet? A lego one or shortbread would be amazing.

Single mum on a budget facing the expected cost-of-heating crisis as last year. Looking for heated blankets for my two kids and me. Any recommendations? My son has a single bed and my daughter has a small double and I have a small double. (last year we lived under the duvets no electric blankets) thanks in advance

Hi @millymog11 if you get your energy from ovo (or boost or sse) then you can Apply for the ovo winter support package. We got 2 free electric blankets last year. Applications open on 16th October.

PollyMumsnet · 10/10/2023 17:35

Hi @Gazelda the LEGO ones aren't marketed at a specific age group so it depends what you're after! There are LEGO Star Wars and Marvel Avengers calendars in the sale. We can do more digging if there's a different type of Lego you're after.

Shortbread wise, Walkers seems to be the one to go for but it's not in the Prime Day sale, and is cheapest to buy direct from the Walkers website: Shortbread Advent Calendar

I found a couple more advent calendars for adults in the Prime Day sale worth a look:

Hotel Chocolat - The Everything Advent Calendar was £26, now £21

William Morris At Home Peacock-Advent Calendar was £45, now £38

We are with octopus and unfortunately I am not aware of any equivalent offers, I wish there were, we could really do with some heated blankets. x

Hi @millymog11 Here are some recommendations for you. We've also got round-ups on the best electric blankets and best heated throw blankets which feature Mumsnetter favourites if you want to take a look.

Mia&Coco Electric Heated Blanket Throw (bestseller), now £38

Slumberdown Sleepy Nights Electric Blanket, now £30 - available in single, double or king-size

Cosi Home® Luxury Heated Throw, now £50 (was £80)

Hope one of these fits the bill!

I am looking for a heated throw so I took a peek. In the reviews for the Mia&Coco one, someone says they paid £40 for it on 5 October, and it’s now “discounted” from £89 to £38!? Such a con, these “deals”.

VerasRaincoat · 10/10/2023 20:03

I wanted the handheld shark but your link doesn’t work - it’s not for sale. Any other links?

Any baby toys?
4 months onwards

Hi @skyofdiamonds - does your four month old like anything in particular at the moment? We might be able to find something specific for you.

Otherwise, in the meantime, we've found the TikTok/Instagram viral crawling crab that babies seem to love - although, you might hate it (sorry in advance!).

My DC1 loved the Baby Einstein, 4-in-1 Kickin' Tunes and Language Discovery Play Gym when he was four months old. So, I personally recommend this one! It's now £37.50, down from £55.

Other Baby Einstein toys that are great for babies who'll soon be on the move that are in the sales are:

Ah, thanks for letting us know @listlovers. We do try our best to find deals that are genuine by using price tracker sites like camelcamelcamel.com, but sometimes one might slip through the cracks 😓so, apologies for that!

If you're still looking for a heated throw, this one seems to be a genuine deal?

I'm hoping to see a heated air dryer. Not spotted one yet - any suggestions MN?

Hi @Gazelda - did you manage to find one yet today? If not, I've found this Highlands Electric Heated Clothes Dryer - it's currently £36.54, down from £42.99. It was actually £100 last October according to camelcamelcamel.com, so IMO, this is a bargain! Hope you manage to bag yourself one.

In the meantime, try these links:

If neither of them are of interest, there's quite a few alternative brands discounted today and tomorrow for handheld vacs - you can find them all here! 💐

Octopus do give out heated blankets - also make sure you are on their tracker tariff. Saves a fortune.

Evening all - I'm back. Sorry, was having my tea! 🍽

@Babysharkdoodoodood I've managed to find this Anker power bank that's down from £28 to £23. Only a fiver, but every little helps... It was actually £37 last year so the price has dropped considerably!

Otherwise, there's this one, this one, and this one.

and @listlovers, you're most welcome. Glad you've found what you're looking for!

Hello, I'm on the hunt for a children's toy storage box, wooden and large size? Please let me know if you find some good deals!

Sadly there's not that many deals on wooden storage boxes, to be honest! I've managed to find this one - WOLTU Toy Storage Toy Box Storage that has a tenner off, and is now £40?

For a bit of colour, there's these ones available, too, albeit they're a bit smaller than the above one:

Hope that helps and you find what you're looking for 💐

For the 16 yo

For the 20 year old

If all of these are completely off the mark, let me know and I'll have another stab at finding you something 😄
