Car insurance: is yours higher or lower than last year?

For the same policy.
Because I don't really understand what is going on with mine!

Last year I paid £299 full comp.

Then DD passed her test and I put her on for 6 months, which added £50 to the price - which was a lot lower than I expected at the time.

This year they wanted £750 for the renewal.

DD has gone to uni so I went online to take her off my policy and it dropped....

To £191!

Same policy is £210 more this year, nothing has changed for me. I have 20+ no claims, I'll be shopping around as I'm not paying that!

Paid around £300 last year, renewal quote was over £600 so I look elsewhere and managed to get it down to under £500.

OP, @DrMadelineMaxwell i would love to know where your bargain new driver insurance came from. How old is your daughter? We are looking at an extra £2k-+ to put mine on when she passes.

Mine was a lot higher too but thanks to the meerkats I now have a better policy at a cheaper price 😎

Mine went up by about £30.

I'm with churchill and chose them because when I was looking a free years ago they were the most reasonable when it came to adding on named drivers.

Renewal in Oct and she passed in Feb so I was amazed when it only added on £50 to put her on as a named driver on my policy.

But then removing her from my renewal quote dropped it by £500+ so no idea why it was so cheap last year.
