How different are your / your partners jobs?

Having recently spent a few days on tour with my music industry partner, I find it really entertaining how different our work lives are (me - finance related).

How similar are your jobs? Do you ever see them at work? Do you understand each others jobs?

Very different!

I'm an accountant and he's a gas engineer!

Vastly different.

I'm a paediatric speech and language therapist in a specialist school setting.

DH is an electrician who works offshore.

We've talked about it and though there's some skills we share (like good problem solving, critical thinking etc) he would never have the patience to do a job like mine and I would fail miserably at anything technical 😂

I’m in a bank so inside all day, DH is a postman so outside all day.

Dh is a self employed tradesman doing restoration of ornamental plaster so his job is physical and either in his workshop or at sites all over the place sometimes away from home.

I am in IT, WFH and he doesn't have a clue what I actually do beyond she is on her laptop and the phone a lot to people in different time zones 🤣

A mechanic and a taxi driver.

Totally different, he's a teacher and I have a rather niche role in an engineering consultancy. I don't think he has a clue what I actually do
