Did you feel rough or unwell afterwards?
Due to get mine tomorrow (NHS worker so eligible)

Had mine ( and flu) at work yesterday, and is my day off today. Both arms sore, and feeling a bit tired and woozy. Planning to take it easy.
I wouldn't bother getting one ( and wouldn't be offered one) if I didn't work in a building with immunocompromised patients, as Covid wasn't too bad for me when I had it, but for some of our patients it could be much more serious.

Crikeyalmighty · 27/09/2023 09:53

I've had really awful post vaccine neuro issues for a year now and it triggered nervous system dysfunction (my 4th jab) so I'm afraid I darent risk another.

Cyclewidow46 · 27/09/2023 09:57

Apart from a sore arm I've had no side effects at all.

Lisa Shaw had the Astra-Zeneca vaccine which was later pulled due to the clotting issue. It's very tragic what happened to her.

Honestly, every vaccine (and medication!) can cause side effects. Most are minor. You have to weigh up your personal risk factors.

Yes you can be 70 and still have Covid mildly even unvaccinated. Everyone is different. But the risk is higher the older you are. I'm not sure what 'dots' you are hoping us to join, and I am wondering what will happen when the next pandemic comes, what will you do then?

I had the flu and Pfizer a week ago. Pretty sore arm in covid arm and felt hot, headachey and generally achy and rotten the next day but ok after around 48 hours. After spring booster which was Pfizer too I felt so ill. Like proper flu . This time same symptoms but much milder. I hope you’re ok after. My friend had both the same day and other than sore arms was absolutely fine.

FrogFairy · 27/09/2023 10:23

I had a sore arm for a couple of days. The day after the jab I woke up with quite bad nausea and fatigue. I had a three hour nap and slept a solid 10 hours overnight.
I also seem to have a flare up of my rheumatoid arthritis but as I have recently reduced my dose of methotrexate I can’t say whether this is related to the jab or the reduced meds.

msbevvy · 27/09/2023 10:28

Had it on Monday morning. Felt really tired and washed out in the afternoon. Slept for ages and was then fine the next day. DH had a sore arm and neck for a couple of days.

Both of us had Pfizer

stardust40 · 26/09/2023 23:27

Had it Saturday. Did feel tired/achy Sunday but nothing too bad

Me too.

MuddlingThroughLife · 27/09/2023 10:30

Had flu and covid boosters same day, one in each arm. Felt soooooo tired and generally unwell for a good 10 days after.

Tarkan · 27/09/2023 10:31

My arms weren't as achey this time as the other times (I had flu one at same time too). Other times they were sore for days and it hurt when I slept on them but nothing like that this time.

I walked down to the church hall where they were doing it so I was allowed to leave after 5 minutes but just a couple of minutes up the road I started to feel really dizzy and had to sit down for a bit. My brain was a bit foggy for a few hours afterwards but I was fine the next day. I hadn't eaten very much beforehand so that was possibly why though.

PercyPhelps · 27/09/2023 10:34

I had flu in one arm and covid in the other on Saturday. Sore arms the next day but fine by Monday.

Willow12345 · 27/09/2023 10:39

Was due to have my jab this week unfortunately got Covid at the weekend and now feel pretty dreadful. All of my medic friends are having their jabs at the moment, as they're seeing their wards filling up with covid patients.

PenguinTattoo · 27/09/2023 10:49

Had it Saturday lunchtime, woke up feeling rubbish Sunday, as if coming down with flu, achy, etc. Went out in morning after paracetamol but came home early and slept for an hour. All OK by Sunday evening.
However my two teens had it at the same time and other than achy arms were absolutely fine.

What were your symptoms? I've had issues including AF and repeated inappropriate tachycardia post vaccination requiring hospitalisation last year. Plus permanent tinnitus, vestibular hypofunction and muscle twitching. All out of nowhere.

cptartapp · 27/09/2023 11:02

I've recently had COVID and it floored me for three days but even as a nurse, won't be having any more vaccines.

theresnolimits · 27/09/2023 11:03

Had Covid and Flu on Sat. Bit sore at Covid jab site for about 12 hours. Otherwise nothing.

amusedbush · 27/09/2023 11:10

I'm due to get mine on Saturday (covid and flu) as I have chronic health conditions. I'm interested to hear that people were given Pfizer as that was what I had for my first two vaccines and I was perfectly fine afterward. The third was Moderna and I was so, so rough afterward.

I was invited for my vaccines last winter but I was put off by how bad I'd felt before. Then in January this year, I caught covid for the first time and was on my arse with it for a fortnight.

I'll definitely be taking both vaccines this time but I'll feel much happier if it's Pfizer...

Crikeyalmighty · 27/09/2023 11:25

@cptartapp Pins and needles in feet and lower legs multiple times a day, weird muscle twitching in legs, dizzy/light headededness, buzzing in finger (like a battery in there) one leg felt heavier than other intermittently. Migraines and headaches (never had before) and arthritis type feeling in neck/skull base. Sore eyes with burning sensation

A lot of this has gradually worn off in time apart from the eyes, headaches (back of head) and neck issue.

Calyx72 · 27/09/2023 11:31

Both in one arm yesterday morning. Woke with nausea last night but okay today.
Pfizer as my others have been. I usually have 24 hours of fatigue/aches/headache which I take paracetamol for.

I am on the the 'yes there is a small risk of vaccine related reactions but the risk of long covid/covid clots is much much higher' side of the fence.

neilyoungismyhero · 27/09/2023 11:40

Exactly the same as a pp. Double jabbed had very sore arms for couple of days. Felt a tiny bit fluey although I do have cranky joint issues anyway. Bit of a sore throat and a few sniffs overnight. Then fine.

MadisonAvenue · 27/09/2023 12:53

Had mine on Sunday morning. By the evening I had a headache, my eyes hurt and felt hot (not to the touch obviously but a sensation of heat), earache, shooting pains in my legs and arms and my arms felt cold to the point I needed a hot water bottle.

I’d anticipated this so had planned accordingly for Monday, I’ve had every booster offered (I think seven jabs in total?) and and have always reacted like this.

Woke up feeling the same on Monday, slept for a couple of hours in the chair in the afternoon and woke up feeling 100% better.

"Lisa Shaw had the Astra-Zeneca vaccine..."
Yeah, conforting belief perhaps, but there are clotting, myocarditis etc etc issues with Pfizer, so I hardly regard it as "A-Z withdrawn, case closed.

"Honestly, every vaccine (and medication!) can cause side effects "
Yes, so how many people is it allowed to kill before it's no longer described as "Safe and Effective"? A vaccine was withdrawn about 10 years ago because it caused narcolepsy in a small number of recipients. So how many? 1? 100? 1000? If it's more than a few, could we at least look at who is likely to be adversely affected, eg stratify by age or vit D levels or comorbidities? Just doling it out to everyone regardless of risk due to covid:risk due to vaccine seems reckless

"I am wondering what will happen when the next pandemic comes, what will you do then?"
depends what it is, and what is offered. If it's a disease whose severity is as misrepresented as the severity of covid was, and if what is offered is the same untargeted mRNA technique, such that the mRNA can fetch up in any cell (heart, blood vessel lining etc) and cause it to create spike protein and be attacked by the immune system, then I'd probably pass.

GreenTuraco · 27/09/2023 20:13

Thanks everyone who answered the question. I'm going to have the jab on Friday so I have the weekend if I feel rough

I have COVID right now. I have felt so ill for the last three days. This one comes with nausea and diarrhoea for extra fun. You really don’t want nausea and diarrhoea when you have a bad cough. Get the vaccine.

Pinkprescription · 27/09/2023 20:23

I had my last one in June - I have been asked to go for another one. As I was so late getting the last one - should I wait a bit longer to get the next?
