How would you feel after climbing six flights of stairs?

I had to climb six flights of very steep stairs quite quickly today.

I’m quite unfit but have been trying lately to eat better, lose some weight, and move more.

Just wondering, how you would feel after doing that and what’s your general fitness level?

I’m 40, for reference.

Bit out of breath but would manage it fine and quite easily

A not out of breath and my knees would hurt. I walk or jog everyday though and do a clubbercise class once or twice a week

Probably a bit out of breath but ok
Obese but exercise a fair bit, mostly spin classes

I'd be sweaty and out of breath but OK. We have 4 flights in our house and I avoid going to the top floor! I'm 44 and never get any formal exercise done at the moment. But I've pushed a double buggy up some steep hills over the summer and I'd guess it must be similar to that.

  1. Not overweight. I'd be OK but something unexpected would hurt, which would slow me down, anyhow.

I live somewhere very hilly and while I'll happily walk down the hill into town, I rarely walk back up because my hips take a long time to forgive me for it.

I'd be really out of breath and not entirely sure I'd make it tbh, since I went to a desk job and had to stop horse riding because of knee/hip pain I've put weight on and lost a lot of fitness, walk between 1.5 and 4 miles a day but hills and stairs are a challenge, I've got arthritis and some old injuries that are not so easy to ignore these days. I'd definitely be hurting, sweaty and very out of breath!

It's just a case of being used to it. I live on the fourth floor in a building with high ceilings and no lift. It's not bad but people who aren't used to it find it difficult.
