Amongst family, friends, work place etc

And is there a reason behind it?

Christmas in my own home, every year. No exceptions.
“No thank you” is an acceptable response to an invitation. “Because I do not want to” is an acceptable reason.
I do not share bedrooms with anyone other than my husband or one of my children.
I do not spend my money with companies who funded Brexit.
I choose places to visit with consideration of their current human rights record.
I will not buy a national lottery ticket.
I do not share things that have been told to me in confidence. I would not expect my husband to share confidences from his friends with me.

lots of things.

I like the comments about having to cut multiple people out of your life

I am from a dysfunctional family. I was really worried that I got to a point where I was shedding people ("friends") like skin cells. My psychologist just looked me in the eye and said I feel like you've just found yourself and are no longer willing to take peoples shit. Which is true. But it still bothers me when I start to distance myself from people even when logically I know they are using me.
