Sounds like a teenage edgelord to me.

@Nagado sociopath isn’t a clinical diagnosis (in the uk at least).

It falls under the label antisocial personality disorder.

If he had a diagnosis then it would be antisocial personality disorder......but the term sociopath is more easily recognised and understood.

ComputerBearToad · 11/09/2023 01:50

Agree it's unpleasant (and OD is full of oddballs...that is actually too generous a phrase) but IMO its just someone being attention-seeking and childish (hoping women will message him to ask about his weird profile and be drawn in).

I actually saw a POF profile a few years ago which was similar - the guy was just a saddo who was trying to use some sort of PUA negging or attention seeking trick.

Unfortunately there are some types who ARE dangerous abusers and they are good at concealing it, or aiming for vulnerable people to manipulate.

People take care on OD - some nasty types out there and anybody could be anybody until you really get to know them IRL!

Wtaf

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/09/2023 03:13

Omg. Hopefully they will take down his profile. I think sending the screenshot and username to the police could be useful.

Downunderduchess · 11/09/2023 03:26

I mean, at least he has the decency to tell you upfront!! 🤣

patsy999 · 11/09/2023 04:01

I had a lucky escape the other day, so have now deleted my old account.
I had enough information to google a date and found out he had got 2 years suspended for beating up his mum with dementia and threatening her carer with a gun. It proper freaked me out. It was lucky i hadn't met him yet.

ImWally6 · 11/09/2023 05:08

Do u kno what I think I would have written back, I mean when are you going to come across someone like that in your life where you aren't in danger or they know where you live.

Imagine how interesting they would be. Obvs block them and don't meet them or divulge personal stuff.

HoppingPavlova · 11/09/2023 05:46

You do realise that serial killers serving life in prison have no shortage of women penpals, and many even lining up to marry the guy in prison? It’s weird as hell but I definitely wouldn’t think ALL women are put off by psychopaths tbh.

Crossroadsh · 11/09/2023 05:53

Sounds like an incel who lives in his parents basement, watching Tate videos.

The women you describe have mental health problems in the main, and are further harmed in the process of supporting a lifer. Some are religious too and offer salvation.

Yes maybe I'd do the same.
I've read about there being some sociopaths/psychopaths who were brought up in good conditions, so more chance of not doing anything terrible growing up. Also relatively intelligent, and educated.
Anyway that a small number of them would actually realise it about themselves and introspect. And try to work as much as possible in the context of normal society, including telling possible partners so as to "warn" them as such and find someone the least incompatible.
Anyway not an excuse at all, just something I'd read. Probably 1 out of a million that would do this and restrain themselves from hurting people.

Oh come on.. as if he would be that open. Clearly a troll account or attention seeker.
as someone who literally works with psychopaths and personality disorders for a living lithe one’s you have to watch out for normally think they are great and go to great
lengths to conceal their true nature

Well whether he's a troll or not, I think you have to be quite mental to decide to make an online dating profile and express desires to kill crying women and children...

Yup. I'm picturing the ugly gamer dude from South Park but he fancies himself as a suave Patrick Bateman type.

It's not scary, it's pathetic. He's so boring and has so little a personality he wishes he were a sociopath.

WonThisNameInARaffle · 11/09/2023 10:34

Jeeeeeeeez! Not only the content but he writes like an incel to boot - all the unnecessarily flowery language to prove his "intellectual superiority". Yuck. But of course it's #notallmen

mindutopia · 11/09/2023 10:51

Well, I mean, my mum met a guy online dating and he told her over dinner on their first date that he recently finished a trial for sexually abusing his daughter (he got a community sentence because he pled guilty, no prison time, which is an abomination in itself, but that's another story!). He admitted he did it, but said his daughter made a bigger deal out of it than it really was, hence why he was arrested. My mum has been married to the loser for 15 years now. She was falling over herself for him after that date and moved in with him a few months later. There will be someone who is into that shit. (I am NC with my mum now, btw).

You'd be surprised.
My neighbour's boyfriend is a convicted domestic abuser and he uses that as a chat up line! I've heard him telling women he's spent time in prison for nearly killing his ex and how he's just looking for a special women who won't make him violent or abusive.

My neighbour fell for it hook, line and sinker and still thinks he's the greatest despite being a walking, talking red flag.

N3philim · 11/09/2023 12:17

No genuine person with aspd would put this in h their profile, so I suspect this to be an attention seeker.
We try to blend in and mask to the best of our abilities. There is zero benefit in highlighting our differences.

isitshe · 11/09/2023 12:22

I live in NI & I used to wonder how the paramilitary hoods had gfs/wives and kids. I thought how on earth could these men attract women, why would any woman in her right mind go anywhere near those scumbags? Why would any woman risk having kids with those men?

Then I realised that many women love a 'bad boy' and the associated notoriety and sometimes, 'untouchable' status. It gave them elevated social standing & protection in their own communities, despite being seen as an almost sub-class in wider society.

I will still never be able to fully get my head around it though.
Not including the ones with a saviour complex, I think some women must believe it's all they deserve.

femfemlicious · 11/09/2023 12:23

Ummmm....what on earth 😭. I'd kinda want to report to the police so they can keep it on file for if they are hunting a killer.

WonThisNameInARaffle · 11/09/2023 12:25

You say that but there is an Australian woman on tiktok whose whole brand is her ASPD diagnosis, and a man whose brand is his NPD diagnosis. They both tell you how they operate to educate others on how to avoid those traits in people.
