What snack food, that once you start eating, you have trouble stopping

Mine is walkers Worcestershire sauce French fries. I don’t get them very often as only Asda sells them round here and my local Asda is a 20 min drive away.

When I start eating a packet, I end up getting another beer soon after. I have to physically say, no more!!! I would, and have done, eaten an entire 6 pack before.

Has anyone else had Fried Egg crisps? Danny Baker tweeted about them and I thought they sounded ridiculous. Then I found some and omigod, they actually taste like fried eggs. I could eat a lot of those.

Elis and John (Radio 5 & Podcasts) have a Tick off a Taste section where whey try new foods. They tried there and were raving about how similar they tasted to actual fried eggs. But to be honest that would put me off!

I inhale crisps, they are addictive to me. I love Cheetos twisted, but they rip up the surface of my tongue. The pain is the only reason I stop stuffing them in my mouth after two packs.

I wish that I wasn’t so addicted to crisps. They are 100% the reason I am a fatty

We are just off to do our big fortnightly shop. I’m so good at avoiding the snack aisles now we have no children at home. But the “ no to the sho for milk/fruit etc in between has me buying the snacks

I’m beginning to think that at the age of 66 and a reasonable healthy size12 that I might as well stop worrying and just eat them!

RicherThanYews · 02/09/2023 12:04

Snowballs, I can destroy a pack of 12 in one sitting. I don't buy them anymore.

I know you said snack food and likely some will say this isn't. For me it's blueberries. I just can't stop and when they are gone I want more.

Bought these by chance last month whilst waiting for a friend in pouring rain and going into a deli/wine/spirits bar which sold them. Bad news to have g&t see the crisps and they looked nice so got them. Yum.

M&S cakes. Ate a whole Swiss Roll last night…

IHateWasps · 02/09/2023 12:07

Where do you get the fried egg crisps?

Thursa · 02/09/2023 12:08

Pita bread and hummus
Tunnocks bite size caramel logs

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 02/09/2023 12:08

This is why I don’t trust people who say they don’t smack because we all do, even if it’s healthy snacks.

Gowlett · 02/09/2023 12:08

Had the fried egg crisps, on holiday, by mistake. Thought they were ready salted, but OMG! The pure deliciousness…

Cheeselets! Thank God you can only really find them at Christmas!

You can find them all year round, Tesco definitely do them. I know this as demolished a bag earlier this week! 😀

Ritz crackers (god knows what’s in them)
chocolate peanuts
those peanut flavoured wotsit type things that you can only get in Europe
ice cream - I have no problem getting through a whole tub of Hagen Dasz or Ben and Jerry’s in one go, although feel a bit sick by the end.

mumda · 02/09/2023 12:23

Pringles. Doritos. Popcorn. Sour sweets.

I can leave biscuits and be more restrained around maltesers and other chocolates.

GigiAnnna · 02/09/2023 12:26

Onion ring crisp, especially Funyuns, Pringles, chocolate, biscuits.

Ritz is the same as Pringles. They have crack in them… legal crack but still! 😈

Someone here told me they’d changed the recipe for them but I can’t taste them differently!

Top tip if hungover Doritos hot tomato salsa and Doritos cheese. My friend actually explained how the sweetness of the salsa helped with the hangover.

my all time fave snacks from when I was 7/8 are bbq hula hoops and frazzles. And the original opal fruits. Starburst are a close second. Easily eat whole packs of those.

Minniem2020 · 02/09/2023 12:34

Jaffa cakes and cadburys fingers. I've banned myself from buying them

mumda · 02/09/2023 12:35

@GonnaGetGoingReturns I love all sweets. If they're here they'll get eaten. I might have go to the shop..

Very rarely buy the dips - unless we're making nachos in which case it's the Mexican dip tray.

justmyluck1234 · 02/09/2023 13:09

Digestive biscuits

Crikeyalmighty · 02/09/2023 13:19

@GhostOrchid omg- ritz crackers- it's the salt!!

rainbowsparkle28 · 02/09/2023 13:23

Crisps, popcorn and sweets!

lifesabitchandthenyoudie · 02/09/2023 13:25

Dry roasted peanuts. Thing is, I have the whisky with them...
popcorn; I try to make my own because it's a bit healthier then...
crisps: S&V, or those Balsamic Onion ones. Only big bags will do.

I can eat a little bit of chocolate (Green & Blacks for preference), or two biscuits, cake etc but the whole thing needs eating if it's savoury or it'll go off.

ShadyPaws · 02/09/2023 14:11

Pringles
Wasabi coated peanuts (the ones with the crunchy shell)
Sensations honey salted peanuts
French fancies

AtleastitsnotMonday · 02/09/2023 14:13

M&S pita chips. Dangerous!

BerfyTigot · 02/09/2023 14:19

How has no one mentioned Skips?? What is wrong with you lot?

I can eat them til my lips shrivel up and are sore. 😂
