What day do you get your supermarket food delivery?

My most hated task is feeding everyone. Hate it with a passion. Never seem to have the right amount of food, forget things needed for recipes, spend so much money. Not sure I want to go down the gousto/hello fresh route, but am determined to get my act together.

I just want to know if anyone with a family, has figured out a certain day of the week which works best for getting the food delivered?? Do you meal prep or batch things on a certain day?

I used to do weekly on a Wednesday but when tesco swapped me from mid week plan to after 3pm any day I started doing every 8th day, I meal plan and batch cook and freeze milk and bread and will buy extra fruit about day 5. Its worked really well and over the year obviously slightly less deliveries.

For the last couple of years I’ve been getting our big delivery on Sunday mornings to set us up for the week and then a smaller shop delivery on Thursday afternoons for the weekend and that has worked quite well.

Our weekends are changing now so I’m going to have to do our big delivery on Saturday afternoon and either another smaller delivery on Weds evening or nip out on Thursday afternoon to pick up fresh bits (if I’d go to the supermarket on the Thursday I’ll be able to get petrol as well, rather than at the weekend on top of everything else (sorry just musing to myself)).

Delivery every Sunday and aldi top up Thursday.
