Back to school soon as a TA and on the look out for a new mug. Needs to have a lid obviously and keep my tea warm for a couple of hours ideally. Any recommendations? Currently have a chilli but not overly impressed with it, drips a lot and is a nightmare to take apart and clean!

This thread is perfect timing for me as I am also looking for a new non-drip cup to stop me buying coffee on the way to work.
Thanks for all the tips.

@Legoroses what brand is yours? (Ceramic lined)

I think it's called Bru. It's OK - the taste is definitely better. It could be marvellous if it kept the heat a bit better (Swell is good for this) and just had a metal or ceramic lip underneath a plain screw top. (Which again Swell was great for.) I can't be doing with complicated lids/spouts/buttons/blah. Just mould gatherers.

OK, good to know @reluctantbrit - the reviews suggest the same. I'm going to try it. I am a massive coffee fusspot, so let's see if I can taste the stainless steel!

I am loving all these recommendations thank you! Think I'm going to be a Contigo owner!

We use Built. Absolutely great; I prefer cold drinks and they're kept icy even overnight and into the next day. My husband says they keep his tea & coffee piping for hours.

Another vote for Contigo!

icebearforpresident · 26/08/2023 22:46

I grabbed a discounted one in Costa one day and it’s brilliant. Doesn’t leak and a cup of tea can last me the morning at work easily.

Legoroses · 08/09/2023 16:22

I bought one of these @reluctantbrit thanks to your recommendation - particularly that it doesn't taste off metal. And I can report that the taste is good - no metal taint. And I can open it to drink straight from the steel lip. Marvellous. Thank you.

Great to hear it. We have ours for several years now and no issue at all.

Looking to buy one - Contigo seems to be the winner but are they all so tall? I don't need one taller than 16cm.

I have a yeti with hotshot cap. It insulated really well and I like that you are drinking from a lip, not a spout. Comes apart and goes in the dishwasher, so really easy to keep clean.
It weighs a ton though.

deeahgwitch · 12/10/2024 19:57

Contigo Loop Autoseal in stainless steel.
Truly spill proof (and dishwasher safe lid which is important as the gunk / bacteria that can be left on drink bottle lids is 🤮, upper rack of dishwasher only though ).
Drinks remain hot for a number of hours.
I was so impressed I bought a few as I always have one on the go.

I’m a bit biased because I co-founded the brand 😅 but the Ever Vessel Multi is genuinely my go-to tea flask—especially for school days. It keeps tea warm for hours (seriously), doesn’t leak, and is super easy to clean (no fiddly bits). It comes with a tea infuser too, which is a nice bonus if you're into loose leaf. No handle, but it’s compact enough to chuck in your bag or car cup holder. Way better than my old one which always dripped and felt like a science experiment to take apart.
