EasyJet Cabin Bag

Hi there - looking for luggage for EasyJet cabin - the free one.

I would prefer one with wheels. Has anyone had problems getting one on the plane because the wheels were considered to make it too big.

I like this one

And this one

Thank you

The free one is supposed to fit under the seat in front of you, I don't think either of those would qualify.

The measurements provided include the wheels and are just within easyJet limits so should be fine.

Thank you - not flown much since covid do a bit nervous. When I flew with EasyJet before the larger cabin bag was free.

Also like this one but prefer the 4 wheels.

Thought about upgrading to larger cabin bag but it doubles the cost of my flights

I flew with them recently with everything I needed for the week in a small cabin bag - i was surprised how much I could fit in there! I also wore a cross body bag with phone, passports etc in, and you are also allowed to take a plastic bag with your duty free purchases in. I have seen that some people take a WH SMith bag with them and put some extra stuff in there as well and then buy a lunch to put in top of it all!
The bag I used was just a standard rucksack that met the size requirements.

BarbaraofSeville · 20/08/2023 19:36

Be aware that wheels and the collapsible handles take up a lot of the internal space, so you'll get hardly anything in a tiny wheelie case.

You might also find a bag that doesn't squash won't fit under the seat due to bits of the seat frame getting in the way.

Unless you really can't manage a rucksack or holdall I wouldn't use a bag like those in your first links.

Coronationstation · 20/08/2023 19:37

The Cabinmax website is really good for specific airline luggage.

Coronationstation · 20/08/2023 19:39

If you’ve only got the free under-seat baggage allowance though you’re better with a soft sided holdall or backpack. You don’t really need wheels or a handle taking up space as it won’t weigh that much.

The free bag goes under your seat. Other passengers who pay for the larger one should have the overhead baggage space.

The links the OP has provided are for tiny cases that are meant to go under the seat. So what's your point?

Soontobe60 · 20/08/2023 19:43

Ive just flown Ryanair with the free carry on bag. This is what I bought - I got loads in it! Using a ruck sack rather than pulling a tiny wheels bag means youve got both hands free.

If youre in an emergency exit row your bag HAS to go in the overhead bin!

I was just looking at this a minute ago as we are flying with them soon, I was questioning whether my Kanken bag was too big!! Feel better now 😂
They’re so strict, or at least so inconsistent, that I’m always paranoid about having too big a bag!

LilacpointMummy · 20/08/2023 20:12

I have a minimax case and they do fit - I always fold down the handle, cover the wheels and put it on as a rucksack before I get to the gate.

Also vacuum bags are the key - you can get double the amount of stuff in.

Cookerhood · 20/08/2023 20:14

It's such a tiny bag that I can't see why you would want wheels. I bought a small rucksack which is the correct size & frankly would look odd on wheels.

HarrietofFire · 20/08/2023 20:20

There's a measuring device on the EasyJet app which you hold over your bag and it tells you if it fits or not. If you buy the case from Amazon you can test it out and send it back if it doesn't work for you. I used a wheely case on Easy Jet last week and it worked really well for me. They are very strict though. Everyone who hasn't got speedy boarding or hold luggage had to put their bag in the metal sizer. £48 per flight if it didn't fit! Mine was really tight but it went in!

Cubeagsnog · 20/08/2023 20:29

We have a couple of the mini max bags and they're great. You can fit loads in them and I've never had to put them in the sizer as staff recognise them as being the right size.

I've also got a small 4-wheeler like the first ones you posted and it fits a surprising amount of stuff in, but not as much as the mini max. Looks smarter though.

PeggyPiglet · 20/08/2023 20:38

easyJet are strict about the luggage sizes yes. However we had a small bag we took onboard meant to be a free bag but we ended up putting it in the overhead locker anyway. Crew didn't seem to care that much.

I’ve just travelled with this one. It fitted under the seat and was smaller than their cabin bags. Loved it, fine for a few days away. Much easier having wheels than a rucksack. I had a small crossbody bag too for documents etc.

I used to have a wheeled bag that was small enough to fit under the seat. I stopped using it when they started asking for all bags with wheels to be checked. DH bag was bigger but allowed in as was a backpack, mine (with wheels) was about the size of a laptop bag and wasn’t permitted.
