I'm just about to have breakfast and my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, with the window open. I did condsider sitting outside, but I cba to go out and see if the furninture needs drying off, then come back in for my things.

The washer's on already and there are some pots to be washed up, but not many. No other housework today though, I don't think. Might go back to bed for an hour, after breakfast 🤔

I didn't sleep well at all last night, so today will mostly be slow and steady apart from nipping into town with dd2 to have her eyes tested. We need school trousers still, as well. Hopefully she'll be in a better mood for trying on than earlier in the week 🤞

I'm not sure what dd1 will do - she may join us, but she has some college prep work she's been working through so I might suggest she stays here to work on that.

I have no idea what's for tea, probably something quick and easy from the freezer...cooked by someone else would be even better!

Tonight I've a small crochet project to finish now I have the right colour yarn, so I'll do that then head to bed early. Everyone else will probably be up way after me 🤷‍♀️

What about all of you? 🙂

Been in a newborn haze of bottles, nappies and cuddles most of the day! Managed to get some washing done this morning and the midwife stopped by to check on DS weight, as he was tube fed while in the hospital so hasn’t quite caught back up to his birth weight yet.

DH and FIL have taken DD out to the local woods to burn off some energy as she’s been hyper all day, so I’m mumsnetting in bed with the baby. Fingers crossed I can put him down shortly and get a little nap while everyone is out!

DH is doing a chicken dinner for tea and will hopefully get to watch an episode of something before bed.

Update to my post, we are back from the party which we left early. Ds2 hated it from the moment he entered the hall and spent it all sat in his pushchair with ear defenders. It was actually very tough to see how different he is from his peers and how isolated we both were because he did not want to go anywhere near the other guests. He would not sit at the food table with his classmates although did eat some party food from a napkin. Also got a nice kick to the leg when he got frustrated when the party entertainer got too close to his space. It's tough to know what to do with school parties. He is already so isolated from his peers that it's good to have more opportunity for socialising and for him to be part of the class but if parties are just like that then what's the point.

Will spend the rest of the afternoon just relaxing now after that horrendous afternoon!

We've gone to Devon today just sat on a bench listening to the birds with my baby and thinking how much life has changed. Two years ago I was struggling with fertility in a job I hated and feeling miserable but was on this date sat drinking margaritas in Italy this year my little lady is asleep next to me I'm skinter than I ever have been but my god I am so content and happy.
Happy Saturday everybody.

@BellaTheDarkOverlord your cat's a beauty 🥰

@EsmeeMerlin sorry to see the party didn't work out so well - but you tried your best, can't do any more than that. Hopefully you're both having a relaxing afternoon now.

We're on our way back from town now; £14 for two pairs of trousers! Tried on and agreed on with no huffing. And glasses successfully ordered! Which one of you has my normally quite difficult youngest child?
