Right. I can't get this weird food thing out of my head.....

A friend just told me that the most delicious thing in the world is this. Get a McDonald's apple pie. Break off one end and eat the filling with a spoon. Then pack the empty case with chips. I REALLY want to try. Anyone with me?

I'm not sure about the fries in the pastry. That takes sweet and salty to a whole new level.

I love an apple pie but absolutely hate them from McDonald’s.

To me, apple pie is the food of the devil but I can see that this might work.

I’ve also been known to dip fries in a chocolate milkshake, it’s amazing.

I scoop the apple out and just eat the delicious soggy and crisp pastry anyway, so I'm halfway there! Yet strangely, still not tempted.

All three of my kids and I dip our fries into our chocolate milkshakes or an ice cream cone. Wendy's is the best one for this.

Apparently, many people in the US have always done this (I'm American). My English husband witnessed me do this for the first time many years ago in a Wendy's and he sat with his mouth agape and absolutely horrified. He then turned around and saw two other people on the restaurant doing the same. He said that no "self-respecting Briton would ever do anything so foul!"

@elp30 @icebearforpresident 🙋🏻‍♀️ British and I also dip my fries in my chocolate shake! It's about 50-50 whether the person I'm with agrees it's nice or instantaneously projectile vomits at the sight. Fries must be nice and salty, however. And I'd never do it with a chippy chip, bleurgh.

Chips and apple sauce is great, chips in a sandwich also, and potato in pie is good too, so I suppose you could close the loop and put chips in apple pie!

I misread chips for crisps and wondered what flavour you'd advise. But I still don't fancy that combo, isn't there sugar on the pie pastry? I think salted caramel is an abomination so think I'll pass on this one.

But we have salted pretzels covered in chocolate, salt and chilli chocolate, I see this as the next evolutionary step! I remember sweet and salty trail mix in America, really nice!

I found out recently that having a burger between two halves of an iced ring doughnut is A Thing. So I could see this pie/chip combo working.

I have a friend who uses a McDonald's apple pie as a spoon with which to eat a mcflurry. The first time I saw him do it I was a bit awestruck.

I also disagree with the fries and chocolate milkshake, it has to be strawberry!
