If you have no money worries what's the one thing you'd like but cannot buy?

Just curious really - if you have no money worries is anything missing that you cannot buy?

A self-cleaning house.

Cornwallinverness · 13/08/2023 20:10

A nice Dad instead of the narcissistic bastard one that I have

voxnihili · 13/08/2023 20:18

A second child. So grateful to have DD, but my family will never feel ‘complete’.

AcrossthePond55 · 13/08/2023 20:21

DH and I have a financially comfortable retirement life. But I wish we were in a position to give a 'life changing' amount of money to each of our children. We can 'help' of course, but I'd love to be able to tell them "Here, you'll never worry about money again".

Other than that, I wish we had the money to buy a smaller house. The real estate market where we live absolutely sucks for big old farmhouses with acreage but smaller homes in subdivisions are going for mega-bucks. We're financially better off staying here rather than sell at a lower price and end up with a bigger mortgage payment.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/08/2023 20:50

Time Machine. To give my 20-something self some sage financial advice, let my 30-something self know I should spend more time with my dad, and tell two other family members something simple that would save their lives.

That, and a magic cream to make my legs 3 inches taller. And DH's actually.

how would you imagine unicorns taste? wouldn't they taste like any other horse?

I also imaged a slightly sherbetty texture, but with an umami base.

Imnotdrinkingmerlot · 13/08/2023 21:05

To have my parents alive and well and involved in my life/ dcs lives. I miss it/ the idea of it more and more as time goes on. I'd pay anything I could for a proper conversation with them.

User5653218 · 13/08/2023 21:13

A helicopter so I can travel to see far away family just for the afternoon. I'd love to call my brother tomorrow morning and say "are you busy later? I thought we'd come round for tea". But he's 300 miles away so we have to plan months ahead and go for the weekend. Can helicopters fly 300 miles? Maybe we'll need more than one.

But we don't have anywhere to land it.

(And all the serious stuff like my pre-covid health, but a light-hearted helicopter)

C1N1C · 13/08/2023 21:19

Time machine
Death Note
Super power

All fantasy I realise.

If 'realistic', the ability to see the last of each species before each one inevitably goes extinct.

I have a disability.

Even if I was loaded, I would never be able bodied.

💐💐 agreed. I would want to be able to walk again.

BurntOutGirl · 13/08/2023 21:23

Someone who loves me and me him

Good health

Definitely this. No amount of money can even come close.

manontroppo · 13/08/2023 21:27

A Max Mara dress for a work do that I can’t justify.

More Guinea pigs, I don’t have time to look after a herd.

A guarentee that my children will have happy lives.

A less mental mum- bless her, she’s getting on a bit and losing perspective.

katmunchkin · 13/08/2023 21:28

To find someone who thought I was the most amazing person on the planet :(

I'd pay millions to not have bipolar.
I'd love a holiday to have carefree time with the kids

pimplebum · 13/08/2023 21:41

I'd buy all the mental health therapy and help that my son desperately needs

Liposuctions and tummy tuck

Holidays! Local and exotic

Totally empathise and understand that @septicsmeg. I would pay millions for DP not to have bipolar and ADD. And for DS to have ASD. And to have my mum back, and to have family who actually understood the enormous impact these diagnoses have on every aspect of life every day and just occasionally offered some help... I’d also like a horse and a donkey and to live where I could see the sea, but those are very much second order wishes!

septicsmeg · 13/08/2023 21:45

@Whine0Clock same for me family have no understanding whatsoever x

Why40 · 13/08/2023 21:47

I'd have my dad back. He died in his 40s. Also, more children. I spent money trying to get them to no avail.

sheeplikessleep · 13/08/2023 21:49

Better mental health right now.

Dragonwindow · 13/08/2023 21:50

I have fairly average money worries. But I do get a bit depressed sometimes thinking about the boring life bullshit that I would still have to do even if I were really rich. Like, you can pay a cleaner, or even a housekeeper, but you can't pay for someone who will sort everything out for you, declutter the crap, find places for everything to live, who will always know where that spiderman lego minifigure head with the batman hair is - essentially make all those decisions exactly how you want them made, but without ever having to ask you how you want it done!
