Just curious really - if you have no money worries is anything missing that you cannot buy?

A happy, happy partnership. I'd give every penny to be in a happy relationship.

Health, youth, energy. Failing all those, a way to forget the first 50 years of my life.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 13/08/2023 19:07

Time as above. Time is my enemy. I always feel like I’m against the clock 😩 it seems to rule my life, when quite frankly it can foxtrot Oscar.

My daughter going straight to bloody sleep instead of endless faffing every evening.. drives me insane.

Time

and not have ever entertained the toxic two long term boyfriends I had before my wonderful DH. I really regret them both but I do appreciate that I wouldn’t met my DH and had my beautiful boy if I’d taken a different path. We all get to the place we’re meant to be, it just took me longer than others (42). And I’m so SO grateful for having the chance to meet DH and have my baby, and appreciate some people never get to meet the love of their lives or indeed, aren’t lucky enough to have children. I’m still a little damaged by those two awful relationships but every day, my DH helps to permanently heal those wounds.

An ADHD & ASD assessment for my child, and a divorce from my husband for not allowing me to get him one

whatyoucanthave · 13/08/2023 19:21

@Fartooold can you not leave and start again - find someone to make you happy?

Oh, I thought this would be a slightly lighter hearted thread than it's turned out to be.

I am financially pretty comfortable (just spent £5k to spend two months travelling comfortable) but I balked at buying a tin of Heinz baked beans at £2.30 in a corner shop last night. Obviously this is more expensive than it would be in a big supermarket or something but Jesus Fucking Christ £2.30 for ONE tin of beans?? That is absolutely daylight robbery.

I used to live in Germany and would occasionally buy expensive imported baked beans that were fairly hard to track down and clearly a niche, import product aimed at the relatively small number of British ex-pats. And they cost £1.80. I know because I was shocked how expensive it was and took a photo. So the fact there are shops in Britain now charging more for beans than what they cost abroad as an import food is just crazy. I can pay it but I won't on principle.

So right now, Heinz baked beans.

My youngest is non verbal, I'd love to hear him speak and take away his health problems/disabilities.

whatyoucanthave · 13/08/2023 19:34

@countdowntonap unless time is against you due to life limiting illness (i hope your post is not this) then you can buy help or cut work commitments?

WhisperingHi · 13/08/2023 19:36

More childcare. If we had more money, I'd have a nanny. And a cleaner.

whatyoucanthave · 13/08/2023 19:38

@TomatoSandwiches that is very hard, and I agree money cannot buy that, sending love

Health for me and my family including DS's ASD, DH's Parkinson's, my long term autoimmune disease , two bouts of cancer, lymphodoema, DD's mental health problems (largely due to the above).

And I'd like a dinosaur or dragon. Friendly ones though, like pets.

In fact I'd like DCat to live forever. She's nearly 16 and I dread the day she goes. She's DD's best friend.

Friendshipissue · 13/08/2023 19:44

Mum and dad's presence. They are both elderly and live in a different country. So grateful they are still alive but missed their presence so much after my traumatic delivery I could've given everything for my mum's hand to give me comfort.
