The fact that they had to leave their oldest behind because they “couldn’t renew her passport” (why?? 🤔)

Someone on the other thread about this speculated that Clive is not the father of the 8yo. I wouldn't know, I haven't followed the story, but if she does have a different father, possibly he has some sense, and is keeping tight hold of his daughter's passport and refusing permission for her to be taken out of the country.

Well skippers often have quite good first aid training because they might have to cope will all sorts of medical emergencies while out at sea.

I'm sure that the training they have in heart attacks, broken bones, electrocution and the like is transferrable to midwifery....

Looks like they had no witness so dad was sailing the boat while being the midwife😬

Is this the Daily Mail testing their prototype ChatGPT sad-face story?

Idiot couple
Baby
British consulate help
Foreign climes
'OIder dad'
unconventional birthing plan
yacht

The AI bot has got the 'immigration' angle a bit wonky though.

Bozzicle · 11/08/2023 18:45

Ooh I hope they are on Mumsnet and do an AMA. 😂

ResponsibleWalrus · 11/08/2023 18:52

Worse still. They left the 8 year old with the Mum's poor 24 year old sister.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 11/08/2023 19:03

Maybe she identifies as a sea turtle 🤦🏻‍♀️

What kind of job does dad have that he can fuck off for 2 months minimum?

Totaly · 11/08/2023 19:12

Do neither of them have jobs?

Because they are asking those of us who do to fund their return home?

KateReddy · 11/08/2023 19:19

Any sympathy I may have had vanished when I read about the abandoned 8 year old 🙄

premiumlight · 11/08/2023 20:40

AIBU to want to give birth on a beach 4000 miles from home?Grin

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 12/08/2023 09:29

bellac11 · 12/08/2023 09:32

Imagine the responses if the 8 year old father had posted that he was refusing to let his 8 year old go on holiday with the mum, the resident parent

He would be a controlling bully!!!

I'm guessing local beaches in the UK are a bit too sewagey or pebbley....

If they had done their research she could have given birth on a sandy Swansea beach, walked through a couple of trees, picked up a burger from a van parked in Sketty Lane car park, waited for the traffic lights to change on Mumbles Road and a less than 10 minutes walk, past a boating lake, to Singleton maternity unit. The lift to the ward I'm unsure how long that would take. Bearing in mind the close proximity to the beach perhaps that's what the NHS could offer in future but only for fuckwits.

ScottBakula · 12/08/2023 09:51

It's at times like this that I think everyone should have to undergo some kind of intelligence test before they are allowed to conceive

whatausername · 12/08/2023 11:32

They're complaining they have been "abandoned" but they are literally going through the process to get a passport (are at the DNA test stage). Hardly abandoned. They simply aren't happy that they have to follow some rules rather than do things exactly as they want.

Ignore me MN on it already.

@Crystal55 I think you need to start your own thread as you have tagged this on to someone else's thread.

Don’t encourage her to start a new thread when her posts on this thread have been deleted for extremely good reasons.
