Hey, going on holiday next week and we have been told Siam water park is amazing.

Best way to buy tickets, direct or through a third party? Would you go for any upgrades?

Any advice welcome 🤗

I’m always a bit wary of water parks and am going to Tenerife in October. How clean is it? Did you end up with a dodgy stomach from the human soup that is a water park? I want to go, I think? but worried about possible bugs etc.

It was very clean and we didn’t get sick

doodlejump1980 · 10/08/2023 20:54

@SpringGreensPreens thanks for replying, that’s reassuring!

Titsywoo · 10/08/2023 21:08

We went at night (they only do this in July and August on Fridays and Saturdays) - definitely worth it if you just want to go on the rides as there are pretty much no queues.

I went a few days ago on probably one of the busiest days of the year. After reading many of the awful reviews, we nearly didn't bother, but we all had a good day! We got cheaper tickets from Attraction tickets which included a free burger each worth about €6. The rides don't start till 10am but they let people in earlier to get lockers and loungers etc. I would really recommend doing that as we got there just after 9 and there was already a massive queue. All the locker areas have the fast passes but they sell out quickly. We headed straight to the lockers near Dragon to get ours(another massive queue). You can choose morning or afternoon ones for €28 and I think they were definitely worth it as it was an hour's queue for rides. The rides are marked as green, amber, red for how scary they are. We didn't bother getting loungers as we only really stopped for lunch. Definitely get some cheap water shoes as you can wear them on the rides. The waves at the beach happen at twenty to the hour. The only bit I thought was too crowded was the Lazy river, particularly when it forks off to the left. You can't use a fast pass on that, so maybe try and get on that right at the start or at the end. It took us about an hour to get round which meant we didn't have time for Tower of Power. I imagine it might be quite a completely different experience during term etc

HamSandwichKiller · 10/08/2023 21:25

We were there last week and had a fantastic time. Yes it got busy in the afternoon but it was still enjoyable without a fast pass. Agreed on the lazy river, it was too long and just a bit boring. We got the tickets that included the burger which reduced spends on the day.

100% wear water shoes and expect queues. The rides are amazing.

UpAndAwayyy · 11/08/2023 09:20

Sorry, should have said the terrible reviews started in early June as the schools broke in Scotland and have continued ever since.

We're in Tenerife now and a family visited yesterday, said it was crap due to the overcrowding and they didn't manage to get a fast pass. They entered the park at 10 after queuing for 50 minutes and then joined a queue for locker and (sold out) fast pass for another 30 minutes. The lazy river was bumper to bumper as the photos show on TA. We're not going to bother, we could do the Balinese bed unlimited pass option but it's 600 quid I'd rather not spend on a few slides tbh.

Maybe next time when they've sorted their issues out.

Waterpsrkhelp · 11/08/2023 22:45

@UpAndAwayyy would you bother going to the other water parks? I think there’s another one close by?

OP posts:
UpAndAwayyy · 11/08/2023 23:25

There's aqualand and that seems much quieter but it's not Siam park. The rides are what sets it apart. Just a shame they're letting so many people in at the moment

Whatthetrolley · 11/08/2023 23:42

We went earlier in the year and booked with Jet 2, our booking included unlimited entry for an extra £100 for the 3 of us. Good Friday was heaving but because we went 3 times over the period didn't need to buy the fast pass although was tempted when the Friday was so bad. The next day it was really quiet. The lazy river is amazing and I could quite happily floated around all day. Buy one of the water proof phone protectors, it fitted my phone, a tube of sun tan lotion and my credit card so had access to everything we needed without having to go back to the locker.

LAlD · 12/08/2023 01:05

We are here right now! Going home tomorrow. :( Had tickets with our hotel, full week, we've been every single day. My kids (13, eight) love it.

Bring water shoes, invest in good ones. We bought the cheap (€10 a pair) ones here at the park, they served their purpose but are in the bin now. Our feet are killing us. The soles are very thin and the insoles become unglued and even more uncomfortable. I'd recommend buying better before you come, but if you don't manage to, the ones onsite are ok. Toilet floors were disgusting, do not enter without footwear.

Definitely do the fast pass if you can. We got the €28 ones, one ride ticked off in a four hour slot. Can whizz round in about 2 and a half hours, ish. otherwise you won't do every ride in a day.

It's a lot of walking.

Food is not great for us (vegan), but probably ok for everyone else. I've brought snacks in and not been searched.

It is very very busy. The lazy river is rammed, and so busy you don't always get to go down the left lane (to the slide). Big wave pool also rammed. Got a bit hurt by all the bodies. I wish they'd limit the number of people allowed.

Have not enjoyed seeing the sad sea lions.

Lockers dinged our first two days, the queues were horrendous. We then bought a waterproof phone case, and didn't bother with lockers again. Took nothing worth stealing, and left our small bag at the bottom of each ride.
You can't take your phone case on the tower of power though. Weird trust system of handing it in up there, then going back for it. So I heard. I didn't actually go as my 8yo isn't tall enough for it.

Free bus has been generally good, but not always guaranteed you'll get on. Factor in occasionally needing a taxi.

Overall, would definitely recommend. My two have had a brilliant holiday. I need a holiday to recover from all the walking.

illiterato · 12/08/2023 01:14

Decathlon do really good water shoes. They are quite cheap but don’t fall apart.

UpAndAwayyy · 12/08/2023 11:30

@LAlD that sounds like the description we've had of it. If tickets were included with our hotel we'd have gone but entry, a fast pass and a taxi to ensure we get a fast pass will cost just shy of €320 for four of us.

So not worth it. Lazy river and waves look rammed, so dangerous. I'm certain it didn't used to be like this.

A hot one today 🥵 enjoy your last day!

I only chose the hotel because with the tickets and flights, it was the best deal. Hotel was very very basic, but my priority was the waterpark, and we weren't in the hotel much so as long as it had clean beds and a little kitchen, that's ok by me. My kids did still love it, so if the waterpark aspect is important, I'd recommend saving money on a cheaper hotel, and caning the waterpark. We did six days at the waterpark, so every single day except travel days. First day took it easy, mid-week took it easy one day, two days lots of long queuing, two days fast pass. It worked well for my two.

Thanks for your kind wishes! Had a great trip. Got home this morning. My feet still hurt. 😂😭

MavisEnderby74 · 13/08/2023 16:27

We went on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago, and I’d recommend that if your kids will be comfortable staying until late. We’d done most rides after a couple of hours, so it gave the kids chance to go on the ones they liked best more than once.

cptartapp · 13/08/2023 16:48

We've been to water parks all over Europe and except for the wave pool, I was a little disappointed in Siam Park. We went just before COVID.
Preferred Adaland or Aqua Fantasy in Turkey.
Still a good day out though, but a bit of an endurance test.
Enjoy.

Parsleymint · 13/08/2023 16:58

We've been lots of tìmes with teens but not this year.
When you get through the door ignore the photographer and go as fast as you can to the wave pool. Set up base there on the sunbeds on the beach. There are lockers there and a cafe. There are other lockers on the park but we find this is the best location. You are not going for gourmet food, just take water and buy chips.

Beachesandcream · 13/08/2023 17:09

We went last week and was very disappointed. We arrived at 9.20 ( park opens at 10am) to a very long queue through the car park. We did manage to get a fast pass but could only use it until 2pm. The park was dangerously overcrowded people queuing everywhere and blocking paths to get around the park. My children were pushed and shoved as we tried to squeeze through the crowds. The park felt very disorganised. Even the lazy river had a huge queue and was very backed up once on. If you needed to get anything from your locker you had to push past the v long queue of people queuing to get one and then the families applying suncream around the lockers. We would not go back , we have maybe been spoilt by the Florida water parks where even when busy you never feel unsafe like we did at Siam Park!

Waterpsrkhelp · 13/08/2023 17:18

@Beachesandcream oh no this doesn’t sound good. We have smaller children too so not sure they will appreciate the big rides.

I took mine a few years ago too, when they were little. Now little are yours? Several decent rides for minimum heights 110cm, better rides at 125cm. My DD is 124cm but with the water shoes managed to get on the 125cm rides. There's also the big splash park (Lost City), another splash park (Bodhi Trail, much quiter) and a warm wavy pool by a man-made beach (Cocoa beach). All lovely for smaller kids, no jostling.

It's hit and miss. We arrived at about 9.30 on the morning we wanted fast passes, and there was no queue at all!

AndSoFinally · 13/08/2023 18:55

OP, if your DC are small then Aqualand would be a much better bet than Siam

OhYouSweetSweetFool · 13/08/2023 19:06

@LAlD would you recommend the hotel? Clean, with a little kitchen is what we are after & the tickets deal sounds like it’s worth a look.
I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed atm with the choices.
Tia.

Padamae · 13/08/2023 19:11

Went last Wednesday and it was fab.

  • get there early, you need to be there between 9 and 9:15.
  • buy tickets before you go, the queue for buying tickets was massive.
  • head straight to a locker station and get your locker and fast passes. You can also rent towels if you need.
  • fast passes are €28 and you buy them for either the morning or the afternoon.
  • we bought afternoon ones and it worked out perfectly.
  • fast passes give you one ride on each of the big rides (except the tower plunge one) plus a bonus ride and one ride was closed so we could use it on anything we wanted.
  • we managed to ride 4 of the rides in the morning when the queues were shortish. Then we did the lazy river. Then had lunch and then used our fast pass to do all rides.
  • water shoes are a good idea as the ground gets hot. They sell them for €10 if you need them.
  • on the lazy river stay left at the end to go down the rapids.
  • You can keep your phone with you on the rides so bring a water proof case.

@Waterpsrkhelp

Siam park is great. Key is to be organised

Book tickets in advance and quite a few places like attractionticketsdirect will throw in a voucher for a free burger with each ticket, saved us a fortune as we were 8 people!

Get there at least 45 minutes before opening. Get a taxi, don't use the hotel Bus if there is one. Get your locker and beds as soon as you get there before queues build. We liked sitting by the wave pool, got front row beds so kids could paddle and we could see them. There are also lockers close by. But don't do this to the afternoon, do all the rides first. Check the map
Online so you know where you're going

Ground is hot, unbearable in some places. We had water shoes.

Eat lunch early (11.30) or late (14.30) service is slow, it can take forever

Do the big popular rides first - start with the family rafts

We stayed at Coral Los Alisios, booked a package through Jet2. It's perfectly fine. Has a pool, and a small splash park. It's a short walk to the free bus to Siam.

It's VERY smoker heavy though. Was flabbergasted at how many people were still smoking. If you're unlucky enough to have neighbours who smoke, they'll do so on their patio and it will waft into your apartment. So many people chain smoking by the pool, too. All around kids.

I'm not bothered about evening entertainment. There's one young girl doing everything. Space is a bit limited for it. My youngest was perfectly happy though, running around with her new friends. Eldest happy on his phone for some peace.
