Ferne cotton - I'm sorry but she's awful.

Anyone else you can't stand ?

OP posts:
bluebell34567 · 06/08/2023 09:10

but things she talks about are insufferable.

Amispringy · 06/08/2023 09:16

Sara.cox and her awful childish show. Fank oo vay much. Ma wife. And that wiwowowow and foghorn noise.

The newsreader Justine green. Or should that be justeeeeeen greeeeeen. She sounds as if someone is choking her. And Justine, love, it's pOlice. That's an O in there.

And I have to switch off Dr Moist mouth Sarah Jarvis

bluebell34567 · 06/08/2023 09:24

to me Sara Cox and Zoe Ball are very similar. like they are sisters.

bluebell34567 · 06/08/2023 09:26

Dave Giffin talks rubbish most of the time and i dont like the sound of his voice, maybe he likes it.

PuppyMonkey · 06/08/2023 09:32

I feel bad slagging off women presenters but YY to Sara Cox and Zoe Ball both being awful. Sara and her inane drivel and that terrible cringe monologue she does right at the beginning of her show, has anybody else heard this? Makes me want to commit murder.

Also would like to add the bloke who presents Click on BBC News - about tech etc. Spencer Something…? He is literally the worst and something about his style makes me shudder.

TravellingSpoon · 06/08/2023 09:43

Although I like 5 Live breakfast, about 8.30ish, they have Nicky Campbell Cameron and say what will be on his show from 9am. He always does a really cringy play on words time speil and it's so bad I have to mute the radio. Glad im always at work by 9am.

KnittedCardi · 06/08/2023 09:47

All the guest presented in the One Show. Alex Jones is fine, Ronan Keating is fine, but the rest are dire. Jermaine Janus is thick as mince, no idea why he even got the job. Why oh why do they insist on getting ex footballers and the sons of pop stars in to present these kind of shows.

I loved Steve Allen, was so much fun.

Ergh he was a nasty bitter little man-

But when he read out the text number 84850 and pronounced the last digit as ohhhhhhh

"Oh" is a letter "Zero" is a number
He was such a bloody pedant he should know this

And his whittering about Battersea Dogs , stopping on the hard shoulder and all the unsuitable food he shived in his mouth (with diabetes to deal with ) ...........Hmm

PrinceHaz · 06/08/2023 09:59

Poppyblush · 05/08/2023 06:35

Gary linekar and anyone else on bbc

Why’s that?

PrinceHaz · 06/08/2023 10:13

Fearne is fine but she’s so not me - I get a calling your friends ‘mate’, saying, ‘Oh, mate!’, and clubbing in Ibiza vibe from her.
I have a visceral bad reaction to Emma Barnett. Again, she’s fine, seems nice, but she’s like the best debater in the sixth form.
I find Robert Peston a bit hard to watch. He looks like he can’t get his words out.
Agree with the poster upthread on Rev Kate Bottley. I think she thinks she revels in the irreverent, but to me she just adores the sound of her own voice and finds Dawn French more wonderful and funny than she actually is. (As an aside, I would love Giles and Mary to present something).

TomAllenWife · 06/08/2023 10:13

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand Richie Anderson! I don't know why he just irritates the shit out of me, he's particularly awful on celebrity gogglebox!

James O'Brien just seems like the guy down the pub who pretends to be intelligent, just waiting for some minor point to argue and then rant on incessantly about it making the caller feel small so he feels better

Never liked Lorraine Kelly who definitely knows where the bodies are buried. Giggly, OTT accent, sycophantic twat

Richard Madeley, cringe! Like the embarrassing drunk uncle at a wedding

Elaine Paige - just turn off, who wants to listen to her ridiculous laugh or show tunes for 2 hours

gettingoldisshit · 06/08/2023 10:16

Holly, Alison and lorraine......all terrible

gettingoldisshit · 06/08/2023 10:16

Oh and Mark Wright

FlamingYam · 06/08/2023 08:05

Nick Ferrari is the worst for it but I've started to notice sheelagh fogarty doing it too this last week. I turn off as soon as I hear it but I don't know any other equally interesting stations and I'm in the car A LOT.

I can relate - I have tried 5live ( surprisingly decent stand in presenters)) radio 4 and a fortnight ago when I was feeling adventurous Heart and for an international flavour BBC Asian Network. Usually stick strictly to talk radio.

I think the heavy nose breathing has triggered misophonia in me, not a joke I have recently turned the volume down to literal 'radio silence'.

@FlamingYam shall we start a petition for LBC heavy breathing 😂

FlamingYam · 06/08/2023 11:43

@Moonshine5 yes! Let's do it! I can't believe they don't see it themselves and sort it out.

Coastalcreeksider · 06/08/2023 11:46

I'm always puzzled by how many traffic presenters end up not just being part of a programme but often getting their own shows.

Richie, Sally Traffic and Bobby Prior always seem to be part of radio shows these days droning on and giving us the benefit of their opinion about something or other.

Wish we could go back to the days where radio actually had DJs and the priority was playing music with a few jingles thrown in.

God I miss 70s radio programmes.

I actually really like Sally's involvement in Dermot and Claudia's Saturday morning programmes. She brings a lovely warmth, and they are clearly very fond of her.

Willmafrockfit · 06/08/2023 11:59

i used to like lynn bowles and she is now a presenter i think on bbc wales

inappropriateraspberry · 06/08/2023 12:01

Scott Mills. Trying to be 25 when he's 50!

Cakey46 · 06/08/2023 12:06

Why hasn't Tess Daly been mentioned more often? Maybe because she doesn't really present or interview in the true sense she just reads out loud autocue, badly.

FloofCloud · 06/08/2023 12:13

Richard maderley
Holly Willoughby
Tess Daley
Ed Balls
Michaela strachan
Toby anstis
Amanda Holden

Kara Noble used to be Chris Tarrants side kick in Capital radio breakfast show days but think she was the weather girl.

BasiliskStare · 06/08/2023 13:37

@Cakey46 - Yes Tess Daly. I read once that the difference between Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly is the CW makes live presenting look so easy and TD makes it look so hard.

So Greg Wallace and Tess Daly top two rubbish presenters here ( thus far )

I think you're all horribly jealous.
What a nasty thread.

Give over 🙄
