Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having breakfast and my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. I've gone for Muller rice and assorted fruit this morning. I'm bored of cereal - but it's quick when I wake up hungry! No-one else is up yet & I don't think they will be for while.

The washer's on already & there are a few pots to be done. Saturday's usually no house work day so that's it apart from making sure it's tidy and the kitchen later on.

I'm off out with friends for lunch - not a clue where we're going 🤷‍♀️ I said just tell me what time to be ready and I'll head for a lift 🤣 I'll probably head for a nap when I get home, then paint some more peg people for work. Hansel and Gretel are done, I'm working on business men now for a topic on Parliament. Tempted to do a lady as well even though the teacher's only asked for men in suits.

Both girls went to bed stupidly late last night so will probably spend the day mooching about. Hopefully they'll spend some time with their dad - it's his birthday - rather than alllll day upstairs. Tea will be his choice later on.

Shower after tea & settle down with my crochet, for me. Hopefully it'll tire my eyes a bit, I've not slept well the past couple of nights 💤 Everyone else will be awake until the wee-small hours more than likely!

What about all of you? 🙂

Had a rare lie in as usually on a Saturday I have to drop my dd at dance classes at 8.30 but she’s gone to a drum and bass festival this weekend
Did a food shop came back just put a wash on
Dh is away with work until tomorrow so I’m off to meet some friends for afternoon tea at a local garden center then will probably do some cleaning when I get back and take the dog for a walk then just have a quiet night catching up on some tv programs

Love these threads.

I dropped the boys at their fathers at 10:30, popped to Tesco as needed to get a card and candles for my friends birthday.

Put the cake together when I got home. Now I'm back in bed lazing for an hour or so whilst DP has gone the gym.

Friends 40th tonight. She's invited a few friends to the local but a few of us are surprising her with decorations/ cake/ balloons etc :)

DH has taken DDs to park with BIL and nieces.
SIL has my littlest one as baby had been feeling under the weather and now so am I.
She would’ve likely been fine at the park but she’s still a bit clingy which means DH/BIL would’ve likely have had her stuck to them!
I’ve dosed up on painkillers so I’m feeling a bit guilty that I’m home feeling not too bad now.

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday!

I'm having a Fibromyalgia flare up today and, so far, I've only managed to get up for the loo. Feeling pretty fed up with myself! Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Hi @lucysmam. My Saturdays are fairly dull, for the most part. I do my supermarket shopping in the morning, do laundry and housework in the afternoon and then chill in front of the TV in the evening. I bought a laundry basket today specifically for towels 'cos I'm sick of DD leaving towels everywhere. I also bought a pretty glass bottle for liquid soap so I can pretend I'm posh Grin. Very happy with my purchases. I've just been looking up maps of Canada. It's my dream to do a tour of Canada 🇨🇦✈. I need to win the lottery first though.

I've just got in from a lovely afternoon out. Lunch and a glass of wine at one pub, then dessert and another glass in a second. The second is definitely one to visit and try something off their menu!

Don't think I cba with my crochet tonight now though. Shower, pj's and sit down in front of the box for a while before bed 💤💤

That sounds like a lovely lunch @lucysmam , definitely worth having a snooze now!
I have completely overdone the gardening this last few days so now paying for it (completely my own fault, I have a serious heart problem and cannot learn to pace myself 🙄) so heading to bed shortly.
Yesterday we completely emptied the flower bed under the front window (full of blasted day lilies and arums), replanted it.
This morning DH dug out a so-called patio plum tree (‘suitable for pots’ said the blurb…) that was 15’ high, never fruited and clearly was intent on shading everything. I emptied that bed of plants and replaced them when he’d finished.
I am very pleased with how both turned out 😊Also walked DDog first thing, cooked lunch etc.
Anyway, at least the washing has dried beautifully and been put away.
Going to need to have a few very quiet days now.

Sounds a lovely day @lucysmam 2 wines and pudding really gone to town 😀

My day developed rather interestingly when around 2pm I checked the flights THE CRUISE COMPANY BOOKED and realised that I would arrive after the ship had departed. The time was not anywhere on my booking itinerary I found it buried on their website! Frantic call to the company and a wait whilst they sorted it out. Luckily they got me another flight from a different airport leaving earlier tomorrow. Not stressful at all!

lucysmam · 29/07/2023 19:41

Oh my goodness @Bouledeneige , good job you checked!

Oh wow @Bouledeneige thank god you checked!

Bouledeneige · 30/07/2023 10:47

Woke up to a text today from my airline saying my flight was cancelled..... Cruise leaves today.

Emergency customer services have now booked me on a very early flight tomorrow which will hopefully catch the cruise at its first stop (having missed the first day and all the briefings for my holiday). So I shall be spending the night in a Heathrow hotel and getting up at 4am.

God it's stressful and not much fun as a sole traveller. Crossing fingers it all works out. I need a holiday after this.

Taytocrisps · 30/07/2023 10:57

@Bouledeneige really hope you make it. Super stressful.

twistyizzy · 30/07/2023 11:40

Early morning hack followed by obligatory coffee and now just about to take dog out with DD.
I'm delivering a Pony Club practical this afternoon so I'm sure my horse will love standing for hours being bandaged + unbandaged, loaded and unloaded 🤣.

Oh no! How awful and stressful. I do hope it all works out for you and you have a lovely time when you finally get there.

Peridot1 · 30/07/2023 11:59

Oh no @Bouledeneige - that is a nightmare for you!
