Do you use a shopping trolley for your shop

Does anyone use a pull along shopping trolley? I don't see many of them, please usually use bags for life. Im thinking of getting a trolley, but I am reluctant for some reason. It would make things so much easier on my shoulders! I am 27 in London

No, a basket one with a handle that looks like a walking stick 😂

My auntie had one of those! I loved it.

yes you need a reisenthel if your investing now.
Genius. We use as our car can’t be parked near house so I can load shopping and hold toddler hand safely to walk the last few minutes.

Have been using as a beach trolley also. Drinks, towels, buckets and spades, floatation stuff all takes load of space carrying.

I live 10 mins walk from the shops & have had my wheelie trolley since my late 30's when I found I could bring back more shopping & walk at toddler pace without my arms / shoulders being pulled out of their sockets. I'm a bit fan of the Spanish firm Rolser, who come in funky colours. Mine folds in half so you can hang it off the back of the supermarket trolley - though I tend to scan & pack straight into my wheels are I go round.

Lovely! From your link - how can anyone look at this and think it's grannyish?

Yep! I got one pretty much as soon as I ditched the baby buggy and realised I'd now have to carry all the heavy stuff instead of shoving it in the basket and over the handles!

Bloody love it.

@Abracadabra12345 - no not granny-ish and in the long term it's better for your back so will keep your posture young too.
This is mine - I'm on my 2nd. My first was pink & black swirls.

I consider them a step too far.

Oh unclench and learn to not give such a massive fuck! It's liberating

AlfietheSchnauzer · 17/07/2023 18:54

Those of you mocking or refusing for fear of what you look like, try needing a mobility scooter! I've had one since my 20s (despite having a car) as I can’t walk much anymore due to MS. It is really hard, you get ignored or tutted at. Shouted at for turning left or right no matter how slowly you go because presumably they expected indicators?!?
Anyone giving out free samples of something etc will look straight over/past you, despite you being a fully grown adult. It's demoralising. Honestly, why deprive yourself of something that makes your life so much easier, just because of how it makes you look?!

These are the ones they sell in Pylones

I've always used them, even in my early twenties. Why carry heavy bags of the trolley does the job for you?

sashh · 11/12/2023 04:56

I bought a foldable crate to keep things in and my carer borrowed it for shopping (he doesn't drive but does drink copious amounts of pepsi).

We now have one each and I got a friend one.

The advantage is you can fold it up and it is light the disadvantage is that you need to cover the top if it raining. You can get a lid but you have to have everything under a certain height.

We always called them shopping trotters, not sure why! My mum had the basket variety

I'm 38

IMO it’s fine to use a ‘granny trolley’ when you’re 38.

It’s when you are a granny, and an old one, like me, that you aren’t so keen on the ‘granny trolley’ image.
Though TBH if I know I’m going to have a lot of heavy shopping (rare since I retired) I take the car. Otherwise I have bags made of heavy cotton with wide handles that can go over your shoulder without digging in.

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 12/12/2023 10:03

I got one at 19 and used it for years, as I don't drive. I used to to tote my laundry to the laundromat, shopping, and picnics. We called them bundle buggies.
