Can't Park on my own Drive!!

Let me set the scene, we are a 2 car family, car parking on the street is awful. One side of the road is mainly double yellow lines and most houses have 2 or 3 cars.
We are terraced houses but each have a front driveway and garden.
Half our driveway has a dropped kerb so one car can easily get on the drive.
The other car (mine) can also fit in the front, but I use rubber ramps to get up the kerb. Have done this for 20 years .
Today I had a letter from the council telling me I should not park on my own drive as I am damaging the kerb every time I go over it, and the ramps cannot be used as they might harm another vehicle.
I'm fuming!

Usually it ends up in someone getting called a cunt for even mentioning a SPAG error.

Been there……

I no longer correct people’s use of language online. I just use the correct version and wonder if they’ll notice.

Why is it with this and every discussion that there are 9 pages of people saying the same thing? After reading the first response saying, simple pay for a dropped curve , you shouldnt be bumping up the raised kerb, just stop. What is there gained by 20 people saying the same? Get the same on quora, someone posts a picture, saying what is this? Its a 15mm compression fitting. Cue 20 people replying its a 15mm compression fitting . doh
Please if you see someone had answered the question successfully, dont repeat it!
Im fuming.

Don't read it then, and if you are fuming really get a life

You are in the wrong here.
Apply to the local planning office for a dropped kerb.

Excellent , the universal response ' get a life' almost as good as ending posts with 'end of'. The fuming part was clearly a repeat of the end the OP. Clearly I not actually fuming, you are just too dim to realise it.

And you are too dim too realise commenting telling people not too, as of people aren't going to read rest of posts, then they aren't going to read a absolutely pointless post like yours.

Exactly! Whether you have dropped kerb or not, you still have to drive on the pavement to gain access to your property!

Yes and they reinforce it in that section when there’s a dropped kerb. To protect the surface and the utility pipes etc underneath.

How have you not grasped this?!

TwinkleTwinkleLittleCat · 09/07/2023 14:12

Ok I'll cancel the cheque😉
Thanks everyone!

You’ve literally been breaking the law for 20yrs!
Problem solved easily if you stop being tight & pay for the rest of your kerb to be dropped!!

You don’t have to read or reply to them all!

Why can’t there be a like button on MN. It would save a lot of people saying the same thing.
