Does anyone know if you need a prescription to buy tretinoin in Spain?

I think it's available in pharmacies in Spain. Easier than in UK

spartanrunnergirl · 04/07/2023 22:01

No you don't need a prescription. I but it over the counter in Spain. It's called retirides.

Thank you. Is this the brand or the Spanish word for tretinoin?

@CottagePieLaLaLa Not sure .. I think it's a Spanish brand name for tret. All I know is when I asked for Tretinoin I got a blank face and then when I asked for retirides they knew exactly what I wanted.

Ginerous · 05/07/2023 00:08

I bought some in Spain last week without a prescription. I had the opposite experience to the other poster - I asked for retirides first and got a blank face but when I asked for tretinoina she understood me. Retirides is the brand name though, my pronunciation must have been terrible!

Just google and save an image of Tret in Spain, and show to the pharmacy staff. That’s what I do when I buy Tret OTC in SE Asia.

I get the tretinoin from skinorac in the US, it's super cheap and FDA approved products but not sure if they ships to Spain, better to checkout once with them

CottagePieLaLaLa · 03/08/2023 16:36

Can you get tret over the counter without a prescription in the USA @HollyMollySophie ?

Just show them this picture in the pharmacy, point to the strength you want, I always stock up when I'm in Spain. X

Yes definitely from skinorac. They asks for a script but you can avoid that.

Somanycats · 08/08/2023 14:44

Exactly, just take in and brandish the above photo. Plus if you use bimatroprost for eye lash growth, thats much cheaper too.

I buy my tret from Alldaychemist.com. I've been buying from them for years, it's very well priced, different strengths and fast postage. Would definitely recommend.

@Ohjustboreoff , do they ship to the Uk?

Ohjustboreoff · 09/08/2023 16:41

@CarpeVitam yes, I normally order 3/4 tubes. They last me about 12 months, they also have long expiration dates so they are all good to use.
I've been ordering from them for a few years now had about 3 deliveries. Always super fast, well packaged and long dates. The more you buy the cheaper it is per tube.
I did have a bit of a wobble on my first order as they want bank transfer but it was all good. Most of my friends order from them too so we do big orders to cut down on postage.

Ohjustboreoff · 09/08/2023 16:43

Another site I've heard is good is www.unitedpharmacies-uk.md/A-Ret-Gel-01-Tretinoin-01-20g-p-1628.html
But I haven't ordered from them.

I would start 0.025

Ohjustboreoff · 10/08/2023 13:20

@sleepwouldbenice yes as above start with 0.025% and use a buffer (so light moisturiser) and start with every other day and then you can build up to everyday.
There are loads of routines if you Google. The internet will tell you to only use on fry skin but I do tret on wet as I have no problems with irritation. But it's all about building up your skin's tolerance and also taking care of your skins barrier so get a really good moisturiser (I love Korean ones) and a hood exfoliant as tret increases the skin's turnover.

Ohjustboreoff · 10/08/2023 13:21

Dry not fry

sleepwouldbenice · 10/08/2023 15:16

Thanks all!
