We Will Rock You musical- is it crap?

My DS (10) has developed a love for Queen over the last couple of months. He is desperate to go and see them but they aren’t touring (not sure if they will again).

I’ve been having a little look and have seen the We Will Rock You show in London is doing a limited run. We live a few hours from London but visit 4/5 times a year for various shows, concerts etc as our station does cheap tickets and it’s only about 2 hours on train. I’ve had a look at reviews and they’re pretty scathing but I’m wondering if that would all go over DS’s head and he’d just love the staging/songs?

Has anyone been to the new run and can advise? I would stay over night but we’d combine the day out with a tour around Buckingham palace and a trip to fortnum and masons ice cream parlour! Thanks

@bruffin the offer I saw was any price band for £15 - have never ever seen that low before for a show. Maybe why the other poster has just said it was packed.....

Yes my tickets were very reasonable but people seemed to be loving it.

It's a big venue to fill and Lee Mead was v good as was BE

What's not to like

I have often seen tickets for £15 but they are usually headline figures and when you look they are a lot more. It wasnt full the night we went I would say 90% full but it's the largest theatre in London and it's very rarely full. I have been to the Colosseum many times and most of those were papering the seat tickets, so a lot less than £15
But as i said the audience loved We Will Rock You when we went

We took my mum for her 60th, the songs were great but I don’t think you can write a storyline around songs that were not written with that purpose in mind. So the story was a load of crap.

Shoe horning in “fat bottomed girls” just so some women with distinctly not fat bottoms could waggle them at the audience was a particular low point.

That said, we were practically the only people not to give a standing ovation at the end.

Love fat bottomed girls. I know what you are saying though. Mind you BE is quite well built

Would have liked to hear Good Old fashioned lover boy though
