Happy, chipper, sunny disposition, friendly.

CornishGem1975 · 18/06/2023 07:18

Perky, happy.

Zapx · 18/06/2023 07:18

A carpenter? Maybe depends on context

SpringOn · 18/06/2023 07:18

No, I think Hugo’s description is for ‘chipper’

Chippy means irritable, easily offended

Summerishereagain · 18/06/2023 07:18

They have lots of ‘chips on their shoulder’ and easily get upset or defensive about a number of topics.

Oneborneverydecade · 18/06/2023 07:19

Snippy and a bit argumentative

But it's not common where I live so I may be wrong

WestOfWestminster · 18/06/2023 07:19

Hmmmm, Chipper = Happy, chipper, sunny disposition, friendly

Chippy - annoying/snappy

ArcticSkewer · 18/06/2023 07:19

Chipper - happy

Chippy - sullen, 'chip on shoulder', looking for slights

WeAreTheHeroes · 18/06/2023 07:20

Nooo - a person who is chippy is touchy and defensive!

MrsMontyD · 18/06/2023 07:20

Touchy and Defensive, with a chip on their shoulder.

Chipper would be cheerful.

WimpoleHat · 18/06/2023 07:20

Means “has a chip on his shoulder” - thinks he’s entitled to
things and that the world should accommodate that and it’s really unfair when it doesn’t. That sort of thing.

JRHartleysmum · 18/06/2023 07:20

A carpenter / joiner, like a spark is an electrician

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 18/06/2023 07:21

Prickly, prone to taking offence at imaginary slights.

Secnarf · 18/06/2023 07:21

I’d say happy and sunny was chipper.

I think chippy means a bit touchy and prickly.

CornishGem1975 · 18/06/2023 07:22

Oh yeah, quite right. I was thinking of chipper.

DeathMetalMum · 18/06/2023 07:23

(A) Chippy here would be a carpenter.
Chipper means in a good mood.

Never heard 'they're chippy'. NW if that's helps.

pictoosh · 18/06/2023 07:24

Irritable, prickly, terse.

Blanketpolicy · 18/06/2023 07:26

Joiner/carpenter by trade

EvenmoreDisorganised · 18/06/2023 07:32

Irritable. Usually you hear "he's a bit chippy" or "he's in a chippy mood", rather than just "he's chippy"

F0XCUB7 · 18/06/2023 07:33

Okay thanks, I think it must mean prickly in this context

Chippy, chip on their shoulder. Quick to feel insulted.

saraclara · 18/06/2023 07:34

No. That's A chippy. Chippy as a noun.

OP has asked for the definition of chippy as a pronoun.

wildfirewonder · 18/06/2023 07:34

Summerishereagain · 18/06/2023 07:18

Yes this.

'Chipper' is cheerful, 'chippy' is arsey/argumentative.

Yes. This. Easily offended

BillyNoM8s · 18/06/2023 07:36

Definitely snippy.
