Continuation of previous threads (thread 7).

The new lair of JTT escapees is all cosy and homey; we have truly settled here. Outside, the garden is blooming with spring flowers. Inside, the hearth is glowing, pictures are up on the walls, rugs are down on the floors (and assorted pets curled up on them).

We just won’t mention the gnawed bones of our prey over there in the corner of the cave…

(Also, DD thinks they got a puppy this spring).

Ah. That’ll be it. My friend - not a cat person at all - started getting visits by next door’s cat when its owners had moved a puppy in. Over time my friend actually grew to like the cat and enjoy its company… then did the unforgivable: brought a puppy home herself. Poor cat!

DeanElderberry · 30/06/2023 17:53

That's a very nice house, but the sideways streeeeeeetched photos are fat lies

I keep telling Rosy and Oscar that some happy lucky day a puppy will come to live with us. So they'll be prepared when it happens and there'll be no repercussions at all. None.

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/06/2023 18:01

Back from dentist. The nerve has died in that tooth and there is spreading infection so I've got antibiotics. Once the course is finished I've asked for the tooth to be removed, rather than have root canal treatment, which seemed agreeable to the dentist. Looked at the x-ray and ALL my back teeth have hooked roots, so the extraction could be a bit meh. Funnily enough, Twin went through the same carry-on exactly a year ago and was very glad to get rid of his troublesome tooth.

Agree, Elderberry, the regrowing of teeth would be a good thing!

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/06/2023 18:03

I feel rather sorry for Cat Burglar, it sounds like a lot of upheaval what with builders and an invading puppy. Not surprised she's cross. Hope things calm down soon.

SinnerBoy · 30/06/2023 18:08

It's a bit quirky, but not offensive.

It's raining here, drizzle commenced at about 14:00 and then became heavy. The garden is happy.

Gonners · 30/06/2023 18:48

I love the enraged cat-burglar face. You are in, her place is a no-go area, you know this and she knows you know it. How very dare you not let her in? She could help you drown out all those stupid calls, sit on the keyboard if necessary, and also deal with any leftovers.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 30/06/2023 19:34

That's a very grey house, but at least they kept one stained glass window. I suspect the top lights in the bays used to be stained as well, though.

artant · 30/06/2023 19:37

That’s a nice house but the odd brass door handle is really letting down the “am I living in black and white?” vibe.

Love the bad estate agent pics site!

Re: the house, I was quite impressed by their sheer dedication to a cohesive decorative theme (such as it is). DH was more impressed by how much they want for it.

That is a wonderful website!

It’s the captions as much as the photos. This for instance: Best seats in the house for the next time Grandma falls down the stairs.

I desperately want to fill that black and white and grey all over house with colour. @Tricyrtis2022 glad you're on your way to being sorted. I think you're making the right decision by having it removed. I've gone through root canal a few times and then gone on to lose the tooth so it's often not worth the pain and bother of going through that just to have the tooth removed anyway.

It's been crazy windy down here today. I saw an old woman walking a very small Yorkshire terrier today and while it wasn't being completely blown off his feet it was very close to happening. I saw kite surfers today as well and some of them were taking off so high that I thought they'd just go flying out to sea.

It's only a 5-minute walk from the Yorkshire County Cricket ground, though! There's a block of flats in Canterbury with balconies overlooking the Kent CC ground and the premium for that is impressive.

MmePoppySeedDefage · 30/06/2023 22:17

Am I horrid to want to see a Yorkie lifted off its tiny feet by the wind?

We have a fox-burglar- MrPSD heard a noise and went into the kitchen to see our local fox disappearing out. It has already stolen 2 red plastic bungs that fill in the hole where the washing line goes, and dug up random bits of lawn. Now it's trying to steal my Birkenstock clogs that were by the back door. One it took into a neighbour's garden, the other was on our lawn.

Britinme · 01/07/2023 01:08

I have a crown on an eye tooth that has been root canaled so much that it cannot be re-root canaled and there is a cavity under it which if ignored will spread to the good root of the tooth on its right. Sadly it is also one end (on the other side) of a bridge to a molar. I have an appointment early in August with a specialist to see what can be done about it. This guy did an implant for me a couple of years ago, which has been excellent, and if I can get that done for this tooth I will do so. However, as it also involves a space and another tooth, it will be eye-wateringly expensive, and my dental insurance will only cover so much of it. I'm saving up!

Tricyrtis2022 · 01/07/2023 08:38

That sounds complicated, Brit, hope you find a satisfactory solution. MouseMinge, from past experience once a tooth starts playing up, it carries on whatever is done. I'll be glad to get rid of this one, as even after having a crown put on it's been niggling here and there for years. I can quite understand the old fashion for having all your teeth replaced by dentures. I knew a few people who had it done for their 21st birthday.

And as a wedding present too!

awww Daphne!

mind you, those ears would make GREAT sails . . .

Tricyrtis2022 · 01/07/2023 09:41

LOL, yes they would make good sails. Daphne looks like a real sweetie.

MavisMcMinty · 01/07/2023 09:44

I was looking for a photo of puppy Dottie running downhill with her ears stretched out like aeroplane wings for balance, but couldn’t find it, so here are three of her sons running downhill instead.

My beautiful boy is at the back.

Britinme · 01/07/2023 10:50

A friend of mine has a Yorkie called Elvis, who is impossibly tiny and gorgeously feisty. Daphne is lovely. My younger son and his family have a dog called Zola who is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Papillon, and she has those lovely ears too.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 01/07/2023 11:23

An excellent selection of canine ears.

Pomeranian/Papillon Cross sounds like a recipe for All The Fluff.

I'm on a ferry. We've not left the dock yet and I've already used the on-board wifi to submit 2 suggestions for improvement - both cake related.

artant · 01/07/2023 11:48

That seems to me to be an excellent use of the onboard WiFi, bint!
